Offline | To me, the new central gauges look like they've been thrown together in five minutes. The central speedo is great, really sets the car apart. Wasn't there an option at some point to put the extra gauges in front of the gearstick, where the new cubby hole is? I do like the new steering wheel and colour co-ordinated dash (mine is anyhow, it's silver and my car is silver ) and the airbag is a lot neater. So, for chrono pack, in the style of Jemini at the Eurovision song contest "Nil Points" Lee. |

Offline | I get the feeling the gauge pack will end up like Gold... A few people like it and say so on here, other people think its ok, and next to no one actually gets it. Its a good idea, but MINI just went wrong on it. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | I like the way the normal gauges reflect the original mini. If it started retro, then the retro gets designed out of it, what does it become? Leeroy Mini Cooper S - The Best Fun on More Than 2 Wheels! |

Offline | Ok I must be out of it,, What is this Chrono Pack thing? I have to say I like the Speedo over the steering column, it must be that fact the TOYOTA ECHO has the center mounted speedo. [But anyway,,, How do you get this where did this info come from… is it on the MINI Site.. Intelligence is not a requirement for existence. | Remember | hmm, well I am sticking with my Sat Nav, so speedo and revs on steering wheel, would love to have more gauges on the wheel area though ![]() oh and I know everyone always says its more in keeping with the mini having it central, but the last classics had the dials behind the wheel too, not central ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | I'm not a fan, we've not needed all these guages before so why now? As well as being a design feature of the MINI, the speedo is very easy to read - not something you could say about this new "Chrono" pack.G ![]() |

Offline | I'm sure much of the logic behind the chrono pack is one of two reasons. 1. Some people don't like the center speedo, but nav is expensive just to get it to move, extra gauges aren't. If MINI sells a few more cars because of a simple option, its a good thing for them 2. Some people want extra gauges, either because they can never have too many gauges, or they want them because they push their cars to the limit by racing or something else. And the chrono pack should be cheaper then the current option for dealer gauges between the downtubes. I still maintain while those ideas are fully valid, the design MINI chose isn't the best to put it lightly, and thus this won't be as popular as they expected. Magic 8-ball was correct. Offline | I did not read any of the posts before I voted - I'm narrow that way I guess. Anyway I think the pack looks very nice but I would have prefered that Temp and Oil guages be up near the Tac in front of the drivers eyes. The new package does look very nice though. I'm sure it will sell well. John |

Offline | I like my S Centralized, thank U Like DE JR. I agree the chrono's design elements just don't work, look too Lexus-y IMO . (do they display orange at nite, does anyone know?)And saying that, I'm a central speedo kind of new millenium dude. C'mon campers it's a freaking work of automotive art, and since the tach got a digispeedo display, well, my passengers gawk at the CS more than anything else, while I can digitally relate RPMs to gear to speed gawkin at my tach. So yeah i'm glad they'll have the factory option now instead of those over priced plastic merde gauges, but the chrono pak aint me, babe. If I wanted an appliance I'd have bought a Lexus. Offline | I'm soon (December) going to drive my family's Cooper S. I totally enjoy riding this car, especially if it is just for fun. There's only one thing I wasn't able to agree to when we ordered it. The central Navi-System! My dad's reason for ordering it was "that he would like to be able to see the speedometer without looking to the sides." He was afraid of constantly speeding which is easy to do with this car. I think the interior lost some of its Classic MINI style. The good thing about it: my dad offered me to fit some kind of aftermarket parts of my choice. Thats good enough to wheigh up the lost style. One last thing: The chrono pack looks kind of lost in the big center circle. Always remember: Drive Fast AND Safe http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/18001/32352.jpg Soon with racing stripes |
