| #1647 of 1960 | I totally agree with you, and it's exactly why I won't order sat nav as long as it displaces the speedo. To be really cool, they should've put the aux guages on the A-pillar, since they can all be rather small. I also think they should do a truly round LCD screen for the sat nav that can display anything just like a notebook computer screen. But then again my expectations are usually a little high I actually hope the older aux config down by the cig lighter is still available on 05's, 'cause I'm not giving up my speedo! ![]() |

Offline | In Australia we have the RPM on the center dial instead of the speedo, which in my opinion has never looked quite right. So I think for the Australian market the Chrono pack looks great. Now we have three options for the center dial: RPM, Chrono, or Sat.Nav. and the Speedo remains where its always been, on the steering column. |

| #1647 of 1960 | I also should have mentioned that I saw it in person at the Dragon Run on the promotional convertible they had there. It seemed odd to me to have essentially secondary information in such a prominent spot, while the primary information seems presented in too small a manner in comparison... |

| MINI2 Master BLASTER!!!!! | I think the Chrono Pack looks good, and seeing as I am thinking about purchasing an aftermarket SATnav system which also plays DVD films for the same price as the MINI SATnav, it will go well as the flip out screen won't hinder the guages liekthey do on the central speedo setup. I quite like the how the SATnav looks in the MINI imho. I'm hoping to mkae my mind up about it when I get to see the new Chrono pack at the NEC Motorshow in June. |

Offline | Can I retrofit the chrono pack on my '04 MCS? I never use the center speedometer; it's too unnatural for me. So I use the digital speedometer. But in doing that, I miss out on the other functions that the digital readout could provide. Anyone have any ideas on this? ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

| Peoples Republic Of Cork | I think the current central speedo is one of the best bits of 'retro' styling on the MINI and I am now certain having seen the 'chrono' in reality that it's a 'Mess' and I would just wonder what the design team were thinking , I have spent 45000 miles looking at the current set-up and will order the same on my new car .I agree Sat Nav works well in the central position ,but here in Ireland the mapping is 'third world' quality and it's a € 2800 option so I will wait until mapping is ok . | MINI2 Master BLASTER!!!!! | I agree that the Speedo is very Retro and very very Unique to all other cars on the market, but I will hold judgement on its looks until I see it on Sun the 6th at the NEC show. But the thing about the chrono pack I like is that is brings the speedo to the steering wheel and seeing as I will be having the chrom line interior, there will be morre chrom! ![]() But need to see what hte central bit with the guages looks like |

| Peoples Republic Of Cork | I also 'reserved judgment' on the chrono until I saw it at the Motor Show I was there on the 26th (Trade day) and it took me about 2.2 seconds to make my mind up ,I took an instant dislike to the thing .and will be sticking to the original . Gerard |

| Tinkering In The Garage | Fraid to say i think the Chrono pack does look a little jumbled although i am pleased to see oil pressure and temp included in it but would like to see volts too included. My personal choice when budget allows will be a combo gauge from SPA , these are availiable in all sorts of combos, oil temp/oil pressure, oil pressure/volts, boost/oil temp etc shame its about 180 for the one combo gauge but they will be doing silver faced gauges i'm told Ady ![]() |

Offline | It's a shame they didn't design a 3 or 4 gauge "mini" unit to mount up next to the tach on the column. When I first saw pics of the chrono pac I didn't think I liked it. Those thoughts were truly reinforced a few weeks back when I saw it in real life. The whole thing looks rather haphazardly designed. -- '03 S B/W |

Offline | I don't like it particularly but even If I did I wouldn't have it as I love the central speedo. Whether or not later classics had it behind the steering wheel doesn't really bother me, for me it's part of Mini heritage. It's unique to the car and the MINI's unique-ness is why I bought it. Plus it's easy to read and considering you can get banned for being 2mph over the limit, a bigger speedo is useful. ![]() |

Offline | I like the idea, I like the information, but tough to tell from current pics whether I'd choose it. DAMN YOU BRITS for getting to see it all in person!! (oops, that just slipped out - it's just overflow angst from BEPH envy) I'm leaning towards Nav, but I like the option of Chrono to get the speedo in front of the driver. |
