| Nice TTs......... | Chrono Pack versus Central Speedometer? Now that we have seen the Chrono Pack revealed, what do you all think of it? While I like the idea of having oil pressure and temperature visibly displayed, for me, the central speedo is an iconic MINI design featuer, and I for one would regret losing that feature. The new design certainly makes the gauges more visible, as opposed to having them buried down in the centre console. Actually, for me, if the Oil Pressure and Temp gauges had moved to the steering wheel pod, while retaining the central speedo, that would have been my ideal solution............ Will you be speccin it on your next MINI or not? ![]() ![]() Global Moderator |

Offline | The chrono-pack to me looks aftermarket in that it does not follow the same design elements as the rest of the gauges. I prefer the central speedo and agree I'd be more likely to order it if it was on the column rather then moving the speedo. PS- Another option Nav. owners cannot have. |

Offline | I find that oil pressure and temperature gauges are the enthusiastic drivers best friend. With the oil temp gauge you can see when the engine has warmed up sufficiently to "have fun". The oil pressure gauge helps identify any leaks and problems with the engine. On my modified Golf I had an oil pressure gauge and this warned me of a leak when the sump plug came loose. There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all. |

| MINI2 Irregular | I'd like to see oil pressure and temperature gauges moved TO EITHER SIDE of the steering wheel pod as seperate, but similarly themed gagues, while retaining the central speedo. As said before, it doesn't follow the same design elements as the rest of the gauges. I've never been fond of the Nav system screen because of the strange "square peg in a round hole" look. Overlapping oversized gauges in such a huge circular space doesn't make sense to me either. |

Offline | Thanks! Not sure what I'd put there, maybe a better looking chrono pack. Can't say I like this one very much. Maybe a huge globe that you can actually rotate, or they could put the radio there. Or whatever... ![]() Black / Whte Cooper |

Offline | Central Speedo here. I'll be installing gauges next to the tach, where BMW should have put them to begin with. Not offering them as an option is as bad as not putting the gauges there to begin with. Seems they are doing everything they can to get us to accept loosing the central speedo location. |
