| Smiley Cooper | Accident - car written off - Pics of car itself at bottom now! Just had an accident a few hours ago. Can't really go into details until I've spoken to insurance, but I'm pleased to say the mini protected me very well considering it was a 50mph accident. Car was compressed to nothingness and doors/boot/wheels were gone, but I could get out of the car and got away with some cuts/sprains/shock. Other driver was okay too. The paramedic was shocked at how little injury I sustained. ![]() EDIT: I should add that for some reason only the passenger side airbag went off. I'm still alive so I can't really complain, but I would have expected the drivers airbags to go off at this sort of speed? Last edited by Chris A : Feb 12th, 2004 at 08:59 AM. |

| Smiley Cooper | Thankfully I got the BMW gap insurance stuff so if the insurance company doesn't pay out enough, they'll pay the difference. ![]() Went back and it seems the police had moved the car but left all the bits that fell off in the road, so people were swerving around it. I collected them all and took some pics. The CD player pic is interesting - if you ever want a tough multidisk changer, the Mini one is the one to go for! 5 of my CDs were safe. ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Always bad news when this happens, but since you're safe, thank the car for doing its job, and remember, you can go get another one. It won't be the same, but it'll be close, and you're safe and healthy. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |
