| MINI2 Irritant | 2004 OBC Questions answered!!! Just heard back from the dealer. Pre 2004 models OBC cant upgrade to the new features on the OBC unless they change there BC1 for the 2004 BC2. basically if you have the older BC1 your computer will only show the (range, mpg, ave speed) the new BC2 option gives you Instantainious speed & MPG! The dealer did say that the BC2 was introduced for cars which had the new 2004 spec, but was also added to some Pre 2004 models in the few build weeks before the upgrade took place. ie peeps who got there cars in late July and Sept may well have the BC2! and would get the new obc functions! - the way to check is the old bc1 is black and silver. the new bc2 is all black! - and is found in the side compartment in the footwell! |

| MINI2 Irritant | im trying!! apparently it just clips off - but getting your fingers underneath by the floor carpet is a little tricky and painful due to the sharp edge of the plastic! may well pop to the dealer and get them to check. on another note - if you do have the BC2, then you can also get the alarm flash for closing added too!! |

| M5 Extraordinare! | O! hehe ok thanks for the info. Does anyone know if the BC unit would be a do-able yourself thing or does it need programming or installation by the dealer too? I'm trying to get more info on it before calling the dealer so i know what i'm talking about. |

Offline | Errr am I missing something here? Don't you just press the OBC button and cycle through to see what you have? Normally I think people are mad to upgrade any OBC but in this case the speed readout is very useful as the central speedo looks good but is a pain to read. |

Offline | Can you confirm this from your dealer. As I thought the IKE (part of the center speedo) would have a greater impack on what the OCB shows, as this is where the OBC is control from. ![]() |
