| MINI2 Regular | What! You don't think they are making any money selling the R90 wheels for over $2500 a set. Bloody things should be gold plated for that price. But they do look good!Paul - did the 17's look too big in person? ![]() 02 RED/WHITE MCS and motoring since Sept 7, 2002 |

Offline | You can buy the R90 wheels (BBS RXII's to be exact) from TireRack for $504 each, without tires. So while $2500 is an inflated cost, it's not a 100% markup like I've seen at various other dealerships. I've seen VW dealerships with a $2500 price tag on a set of $175 chromies with the same tires that came with the stock wheel. That's beyond rediculous. |

Offline | Re: "dealers(USA)eye profits on extras" I don't see this as negative at all. In fact I'm glad that many (most) dealers (at least mine is) are selling at MSRP. I saw the brochure of dealer "extras" last night - Bike racks, wheels, car covers etc. and I can choose to get them or not. I have myself have indulged in both a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses. At my dealer they had many items for sale that are not on the MINIUSA site and I'll probably pick up some of those as well. I think it will all be good unless some of you are stuck with dealers that either mark up the base or add mandatory extras. Picked up 12 July 2002. 69,000 rev happy miles Autocrossing in G Stock this year!!! |
