Offline | My Velvet Beauty Went to see my Velvet Red Cooper last night, gorgeous. Pictures in here. Also my dealer had a black Cooper with the body kit (at about 1500 quid fitted), and it looked fantastic with 17s, looked pretty much like an S. I loved it, but don't like the lack of chrome. Also had this Pepper White Cooper demo with black bonnet stripes. The white was OK, but the black stripes with white edges looked pants IMO. Dealer didn't know why it came with white edges, but I said I thought dealer fit ones didn't have them but factory fitted did, is this right?http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...9375#post46987 Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer. Offline | Thanks. I've edited now and it appears to work, just in the wrong place in the text! Oh well, can't have everything. Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer. |

Offline | Good pic of the white Varse, thanks for that. Has it changed your opinion of the colour? or do I still need to call mine Varse. Is it a creamy Old English White type colour or is it whiter than that? The eagle never saved so much time as when he submitted to learn from the crow. |

Offline | M, much as I am loath to admit it, I quite liked it! I would say that it is identical to the old english white, from what I've seen, and I presume very much like the Rover/MG off white you see on MGFs. It's very creamy, and really does quite suit the MINI. I'd have to say that with a body coloured roof or on a ONE, definitely no, but with the black looked good. The stripes looked really naff, and spoilt it completely, not helped by the nasty white edging. I don't think the dealer was very impressed either as he didn't realise that they came like that from the factory. I reckon it would look very nice with a red interior. I do like it, but still would prefer a number of the other colours, but if you are into white cars, it's an improvement on the norm. By all means name her Varse, I'd be very proud. The all black Cooper with body kit looked the business in a more racey type way, but 1500 quid is very steep. You may as well just buy a basic S. Hopefully over the weekend, if I can find a bit of rare UK sunshine I can get a half sunny, half dark type picture, as I know some of the US guys wanted to see the VR like this. Can't wait to actually drive her now! Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer. |

Offline | Thanks Varse, My interior is red half leather, 1500 for a body kit??? ouch. I've been using a body kit car last few days, front bumper, rear bumper side skirts, 900 for the parts, 150 to fit. Must be the rear spoiler that bumps it up or a greedy workshop at the dealer, I seem to recall that the spoiler is 100. Must be a greedy workshop!! ![]() The eagle never saved so much time as when he submitted to learn from the crow. |

Offline | Very Clean Car. The garage did a good cleaning job. Hope your car is great this time. I think I like the colour, at least it's unusual. Yes after another look, it does look good. Especially with the black roof, very stylish. Tell us what you think of your new cars build quality. |

Offline | Thanks Varse, for the pics--exactly what I was looking for. Your MINI has the sophisticated, understated, classy look that I thought it would have. I love the choice of black roof and the 16" silver 5-star wheels too. Brilliant! ![]() The color shows well in both direct and indirect light. Velvet Red is now my first choice for a Cooper, but if I get an S it will have to be some other color. Good Luck with your new set of wheels, may the fault-free MINI gods smile upon you. BTW, did your dealer throw in a free meershaum, pack of Grousemoor tobacco, a cardigan, and a pair of slippers? only kidding ha haJerry |
