Just had my first service today. Due at 9,200 miles, took it in with 200 miles "to go". Nice lift to and from work in a new 5 series. Super quiet! But somehow lacking in character. Was relieved to get back in mine
I also noted a couple of rattles/creaks which they have sorted in the main, so pretty happy. But, they called me at lunchtime to say a specific rattle I had complained of (on the right downtube) was because of the Nokia handsfree lead. So they tried it on, saying they couldn't do anything about it. Not that this suprised me

The rattle had been there since day one, and the taking apart of the dash to install the handsfree kit actually made it rattle less! Anyway, I told them what was what and thankfully they didn't call again.
I asked for ECU v36 to be put on as well, but there was no note of that in the notes, but they did reset the ECU (don't know if they also upgraded it at the same time), so my car is now well slow!! Need to drive it hard again for the next couple of weeks to get it back to how it was. Bit of a drag, these modern cars
In looking for a rattle in the rear/boot area, they've also put some tape etc. around the boot/parcel shelf/rear seats, which I noticed as soon as I started my car up - I can't hear my exhaust as well! It's muffled. But overall a big improvement so far though - it's a much quieter car, and feels higher quality as most of the rattles/creaks have gone. But, if I "drive" it my K&N and Magnex kick in of course so, the best of both worlds I guess :-)
Overall very impressed with the service at Scothall Leeds, and they didn't mention my mods (Magnex, K & N Typhoon, Eibach springs, tyres, headlights) at all. All under TLC.
Now, I wonder which rattle comes back first. Or better still, which new ones all this messing about will introduce
