What is the reason that so many of you have to wait for the first of March? is it some sort of tax year thing?

first of march = brand new registration..... if we pick the car up now the reg will start 53 (ie last half of 2003) if we pick it up on first of march we get 04 - first half of 2004 (september will be 54)........so if we picked our mini's up now... they would look like old cars in one week... so its worth waiting so your car is newer longer.

Or too put it much more simply.... If peeps didnt wait until the 1st when It came to trade in time the dealers will pay 3 to 500 GBP less !!!!

I pick my S up on 1st March, not been gievn a time yet I ordered it at the end of December and the wait has been killing me, especially as i sold my Impreza Turbo and have been driving an '89 Peugeot 309 Diesel since then

The other thing is that my car is now being prepared at the dealer and i am over 400 miles away so i can't even go and get a sneak preview, oh well, at least i'm rushed off my feet at work so it takes my mind off it

I just picked up on this thread and having never posted before, I felt as if I should say hi and congratulations to everyone collecting on March 1st ............AHhhhhhhh OK I pick up my Chilli Red and White MC (17" S Spokes, SS+ , Chilli Pack, HK Stereo, stripes and Driving lamps, Xenons) ((<- Sorry So excited!!!!)) on March 1st at 9.00am and I cannot think about anything else!!! please someone tell me that its this bad for you all as well I refuse to believe its just me thats so nuts about a car I've driven once for 10 mins!!!

Firstly a bit of 'niceness' I asked my dealer if he could fit my Coopers S Fuel cap I bought from minispares.com and he said '' Ill see if I can get it done''. He phoned me today to tell me that the car is sitting pride and place in the showroom - Fuel cap fitted free of charge! I really have rarely experienced such great customer service, he called me at least once a week in the past few months to keep me informed....I know people say that of course they do, they are salesmen, but I paid for my car 2 months ago and he is still looking after me every step of the way.

Secondly, I am running scared of the weather, the snow is coming down and driving conditions are getting worse! I dont want to leave the dealer and sit in traffic for 5 hours!!!! Roll on the sun, dont want salt and grit all over her on the first day!

picking my MOD up on Mon 1st March at 10.30am, can't wait.
Also counting days, hours, minutes, seconds........ as everyone else.

Ordered my car on 29th Nov so has been a long wait.

Dropped my insurance docs off at dealer on Thurs, but he said I couldnt view the car as it was over the road at another compound (a fob off I think).

Not long now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Morning I arrived at 9am sharp to take delivery of my new MINI. The time now is 1am the next day, and can anybody guess what Ive been doing all day!?

2 full tanks of fuel after 9am I find that my baby is everything I dreamed of and more! so much more!!!! She looks amazing (See Pics!) and the dealer had made everything great and easy, including fitting my aftermarket Cooper S fuel cap! HK Stereo is quite frankly ridiculous, It is simply the best system I have ever heard, clean punchy bass a full midrange and it hits the high bits perfectly.....well pleased, infact there is not one area of the car that I can fault as yet. Driving is a whole new game...

Driving is so much fun in my mini, sure the 17's on ss+ make things a bit "Bumpy" but she sticks to the tarmac like glue, coupled with such good responsivness from the steering, I have never had so much fun in a car!

I hope all March 1st deliveries were as good for you guys as it was for me, I am in love...with a car.

Thus begins my MINI adventure, Ill keep posting pics as the adventure continues.
