Offline | Congrats on the order! Just one note. You can save yourself a bit of money if you install the aux. input and leather handbrake boot yourself. Neither one is very difficult to do. ![]() ![]() Nittany: '03 IB/W MCS with the ORIGINAL painted dash Dougal: '07 PW/Blue MCC Sidewalk, painted dash (of course) |

Offline | Thanks I thought the Aux input with HK and Sat Nav was a bit of a pain and was the one case where the install fee made sense? but point taken on the handbreak ~Randolph PS: Just got the word I made the cut for March build April delivery if the gods smill on me! My sister lives in Cambridge and her birthday is the 29th of April so i plan to stay with her and get in my breakin miles over in Amercia as the island Speed Limit is 50 mph for the 'state highway', all 7 miles of it, and then only 45 on the 15 miles or so of 'main highway', the rest of the island is 20 to 30 mph; Nice as Nantucket is it is not a place for spirited motoring. ~R S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | Nav System!? Don't you want the giant speedo in the middle ![]() I guess it will help you find MINIsOnTop at least ... Good luck with the wait. Good choice with Keith too. PS: When I had MINI Peabody install the Lapis boot for the handbrake, they had loads of trouble - I would not have enjoyed doing it myself. But JerseyGirl is much more hands on than me with materials and such ![]() |

Offline | Ooooh Nantucket. That is high on my list of places to visit sometime before I die. Sounds corny, but ever since that sitcom "Wings" I've been dying to get there. Don't know exactly why. ![]() ![]() Nittany: '03 IB/W MCS with the ORIGINAL painted dash Dougal: '07 PW/Blue MCC Sidewalk, painted dash (of course) |

Offline | This is a wonderful place Robin Especially in the off season... The "Wings" gang used to turn up for a week or two each year to shoot exteriors and as I used to be a pilot I got to be an extra in some of the stock footage they shot. I have been here Man and boy for 55 years but with retirment I must sell up and move as the cost of living out here is twice that of boston. By this time next year I wll be living some where else one thing I plan to do with my new MINI this summer is right after the MOT run to go on a around the USA trip down to Florada and then on to the South west an then up to thw Pacfic north west and then home accross the noth of the country... 6 to 8 weeks looking at Prospects for places to live in my 'MINI' years. Should be quite an adventure and I will have my laptop and will keep in touch as I go. A normal family of four will qualify for food stamps if they make less than $45,000 or so and thy have to pay the box boys at the markets $15 an hour to get any help But If i am still on the Island I would be glad to show any of you MINI2 gang about... Leave your MINI in Amercia though the SSA will realy Gouge you to bring it over Cheers ~Randolph S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | Thanks Ian your posts and Blog were a big part of the reason I went with them... that and beeing treated like dirt by the "Other Place" a few years ago! when I was shopping for one of there other lines makes you wonder how HC stays at the top of the boston heap the way he doesCheers ~Randolph PS; (Almost an Ex/pat myself as for the last 35 years or so I have spent about 2 to 6 weeks a year in the UK and for a long time in the 70s and early 80s I kept a classic mini cooper {1967 BRG} over there for those trips when I had a sideline delivering used and new light aircraft to europe) last year I was in London from the 25th of Nov to about a month ago 7 weeks free ues of a friends flat in Petty France Wonderful place to plan the big changes in my life this year.
