Extended Warranty?

Does anyone know if Mini offers an extended warranty in the US? I read some past threads and found an offer in Australia where you can purchase extra warranty and roadside assistance, but couldn't find anything US-related.

If someone has it, how much did it cost and what dealership did you get it from?

I heard you can also get an extended warranty from a 3rd party--has anyone done that?

Gmini--I definitely did that and without going through EVERY thread I only found info on other countries or the threads that came up had totally different topics and I didn't want to venture through each one to find the one post on it! So, I thought I'd try starting the thread. If you know how I can refine my search let me know.

"I would normally agree with you, however, in this case concerning the MINI and extended warranty I will disagree. I normally would never consider an auto extended warranty but since NO ONE, can tell us how a MINI will hold up between years 4-7 AND considering the number of faults (especially 5 speed tranny's in my case) I felt the extended warranty made sense for me, at the price my dealer offered. (price being a key factor).
I plan to do my own maintenance so will most likely not be taking out the extended maintainence agreement."

Not sure why he pointed ya to that post, if that indeed is what he's speaking of...as it does not list the price paid, which I am also curious of?

Gmini--I was able to find the post you started--along with enlightened's help, but I am still kinda lost on prices. I understand the pros and cons to the extended warranty, but I'm trying to get a feel for costs.

Anybody with input?
