Hi and welcome to MINI2. Your friend will find the answer to just about any question he has in here so I'd suggest he asks first rather than us try to guess what he wants to know. One suggestion for him though is to go and take a test drive, once done he'll be placing the order

Hi TTER,

Welcome to M2.

Basic advice: buy TLC, Air Con (or Chili Pack) and the Multi Function Steering Wheel. Order stuff from the factory that can't be fitted retrospectively (i.e. reasonably priced retro-fit). Have your friend visit the S Speccin' thread in the Cooper S Forum, he'll get plenty of advice and non-advice from the habitual reprobates on there.

Thats true - and thats how I did it , putting this question and that about spec , colour choice etc meant that I was completly happy with my MCS when it arrived and have no regrets that I over or under speced it.

Get him on the test drive today!

if you chum is buying a used MCS check its faults history. Some cars had faults, such as YOYO/Stumble, cracked windscreen and dash rattles! be sure to ask the owner/dealer if the car has had work done for any of these. Also dont get too carried away with luxurious options. I would suggest Chili pack, CD. A lot of ppl like the MFSW. - Also the MCS is exclusive to Electric Blue and Dark Grey. but be warned the market is flooded with these, so might be worth considering another colour!

Hello TTER,

What's your TT like?

My mate has a 180TT Coupe and has had a few serious probs with it, including being off road for about a month waiting on a coil pack coming in on bad order. It's also broken down another couple of times.

Has your's been OK?

Maybe you should buy an MCS like your mate

Yeah mines been cool (touch wood) there was a coil pack recall. Problem is whatever car you get these days you always get issues (to many gismos).

Im sure you guys must have had some issues to

You have to watch out for the Audi dealers though, some of them a very bad at aftersales.

P.S I would check you air intake after going throught that puddle on your sig pic

England I am looking to buy a Cooper S

Hi there guys, I am the one looking to buy a Mini Cooper S.

I have had a test drive already, in a 6 month old Ex-Demo owned by BMW, it has all the kit as far as options are concerned, not sure about the headlamps though, them being Xzenon or not?

Its priced at £16995, it needs road tax and the front tyres look pretty low, the car itself has done 7300 miles. 53 -Sept 03

Service and maybe the tyres would be replaced, and I would certainly ask about the road tax!

I did notice that the rear parcel shelf rattled and the dashboard or that area, seemed to have a rattle as well......

Car responded well, and to be honest I was suprised how well, very quick car, sounded throaty and handeded well.

It was dark blue met, half leather grey, single cd, chilli pack, TLC, chrome mirrors, auto dim rear view mirror, bonnet strips, whie roof and clear rear clusters. Upgraded stearo, HarmonK, and it sounded really nice. Auto Air Con as well. I might have missed something, as I said, it was well kitted out.

The car also had tracker fitted and seemed to have a body kit, which I have seen as an option on the Mini site.

The wheel were 17" silver, very nice looking!

I didn't have a great look at the car, just a quick once over, but it looked nice.

Is it worth the cash? I have been looking at other cars and I must admit, I have found another Cooper S, Chilli red, chilli pack, front spots white roof and stripes, half leather and 5000 miles. £15995, I don't think it had as many option though.

Any help or advice would be great, I am selling my 2003 Volvo C70 Convertable to buy the Mini, great car just a little too thirsty for my liking, so I would be interested in the fuel figures, I know the Mini figures, but what I want is reall day 2 day figures............cheers in advance!!!

fuel figure varies, but at worse i've gotten 350km on a tank... max i've seen it go 700 on a tank, granted that figure came from a long trip all highway, and the 350 is all city

03 Dark Silver MCS w/ White roof
