Offline | MINI First Aid Kit USA Source? I found the part number for the euro MINI First Aid Kit (First Aid Kit (European) = 51 43 7 066 648 ) I have alwas tried to outfit my cars with these sorts of euro options for fun as well as for reasons of safety I recall several times being very glad to have the Special DIN marked hermeticlay sealed Green plastic of first aid supplies in my old M-benz 250SL; it was very well equiped with things like large pressure bandages that were very rare in consumer USA first aid kits (which at that were good for mostly band-aid and minor burns at best) in one case I saved the life of a biker who had come off his bike in the mountains west of Golden CO and was bleeding badly Without that hi quality kit the outcome might have been quite diferent (and yes I have taken the Red Cross advanced First Aid/CPR course and I am up to date on the refesher course and more than able to put together such a kit from US sources and in fact I would expect to add a few things to the MINI Kit but it will be a good starting point and I know it will fit the cubby in the boot.) Is there anyone on the Web selling these? or can I just order it from the MINI dealer? Same Question about the Euro MINI warning Triangle and its under parcel shelf mount. Offline | Thanks I found his orignal posts on these topics from that this for the warning triangle: http://www.mini2.com/forum/interior-ice/20878-warning-triangle-installation-part-numbers.html and for the First aid kit http://www.mini2.com/forum/interior-ice/20880-first-aid-kit-installation-part-number.html it looks like I need to order them from 'mikeythemini' in the UK but I will first see if anyone has had any luck getting them from a source on this side of the pond S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | No, its not a law to have them here, so they don't.... A few different models of cars come with first aid kits, but its mostly a marketing thing, not a safety law. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | I think there are a few reasons why we do not (in general) get them here. 1. if we had them we would have to know how to use them which would be another thing for the DMV to test for. 2. if they just include them and some idiot misuses it the 'victim' will sue not just his 'good samaritan' but the company who supplied the kit on the 'deeper pockets' theory 3. Cost involved to redo them with Northamerican products or relabel all the stuff ( look at the idiocy of requiring USA cars to spell out the word 'Brake' on the warning light when the rest of the world including Canada uses the international icon on the light S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | I just heard back from Keith at MINI of Peabody and he said the part numbers are not in the US MINI or BMW computer parts system and so can not be ordered on the side of the pond from a dealer unless said dealer has set up something with a dealer outside of the country. So I am off to write Mikey-the-Mini an Email to see if I can get them from him S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | Obviously I agree with wholeheartedly and not just on this... What about holding back on the Paddle Shifters on the CVT for the US market until the 05 model or the Euro parcel shelf many of the after market companys sell things like the Euro parcel shelf (I have one on order from the US branch of MossMini )but for some odd reason they do not sell the First Aid kit or the Triangle (they sell other kits and triangles in many cases but not the MINI ones) I sent an email to the three largest and only Moss even replied with something about the first aid kit and triangle not being DOT approved fo US use. but other Euro cars selltheir first aid kits here I still have the green plastic case kit from my last M-Benz Will Do as soon I hear back from him I will post to this thread oh shoot I forgot to ask him about the green cross decal for the compartment... anyone know the MINI part number for it? (yah I am a completest with this sort of stuff) S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | MINI sells the parcel shelf now at dealers (or at least some of them), even though they didn't originally. I think its the case that MINI will respond if there is enough demand, they probably just think people aren't willing to pay for the first aid kits. I'm not sure how that helps, but it does seem to be the case. The paddle shifters - I just don't get the lack of them, there must be some other logic. Magic 8-ball was correct.
