Offline | Tyre Pressure light The little yellow light on the dash keeps coming on telling me I have tyre pressure problems, but when I check the pressure they seems alright. I turn the engine off and it resets - then nothing. It doesn't happen every journey, just now and again...but at least once a week. Is this a common 'foible' or do I need to get it checked out with a dealer. I haven't had any new tyres yet - but I take it the runflats are expensive? |

Offline | Thanks mate, but I've done that! I dunna want to take it to the dealer if I can help it...I'm sure they'll scratch their chins, take a sharp intake of breath and tell me I need to spend loads of pounds! I've check the tyres for signs of deflation and stuff but they seem OK. bloody thing. |

Offline | Is it flashing or does it come on and stay on? From memory flashing is the indication that you have a low pressure tyre whereas if it stays on it signifies a fault with the system. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

| Slippery When Wet | I've had the same problem with mine. 100% sure its not an actual tire pressure issue but just a computer problem. It happens at random times... we can't figure out an common occurance that may have caused it. I haven't seen it again since my first service visit though... here's hoping -Stef back in action |

Offline | So if u put any air in / take any out you have to reset the indicator each time is that correct? And do i read the manual correctly (where's the plain english!!?) - turn ignition to position 2, hold button below handbrake until yellow light on speedo is lit, then release, start and driver away... correct?! thanks in advance! |

Offline | answer??? hi all, yea i had this problem back in about september. the tyre pressure light came on every so often at first but then about 15 secs after every time i started the car! drove me nuts so i ended up taking it in to the dealer to sort. at first they didnt know what it was so they reset the fault diagonstic thingy so when it happened again hopefully the on board computer would tell them what it was, but no... anyway they narrowed it down to the DSC (do u have DSC or ASC?) and fitted a whole new DSC unit (all under warranty might i add!) .this seemed to clear the problem for about another 3 days then the ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() came on again! Anyway to round it up (cos im probably waffling!) they said the DSC unit they fitted must have been faulty so they replaced it again and i haven't had the problem since!! (and not one penny spent... expect taking it in and out of the dealership 3 or 4 times!) hope that solves your problem! Dealership that fixed it by the way was coopers service department in sevenoaks, kent. they were actually very good about the whole thing and were very helpful, mayb give them a call as they have seen the problem before??? |

Offline | My tyre pressure sensor is really annoying me. I hit a pothole the other day and popped one of my tyres (bl00dy Welsh roads ). The sensor didn't come on (although it was obvious that I had a flat).I changed the wheel and two days later, the sensor came on, pinging away and generally bugging me. I checked the tyre pressures and they were fine. Mini told me that I had to reset the sensor when I changed tyre. This week, I has another flat due to some grit in the tyre vale letting air out. Guess what? No light from the sensor! I re-inflated the tyre and had the wheel checked my a garage. Later that day, the sensor came on again. ARRRGH. What a complete waste of time. These sensors are useless. |
