Pulled over for clear MINI tail lights.

Well, was driving today. Noticed my local police department undercover car behind me. (a red crown vic) Cop threw the lights on. I pull over. Comes up and asks me if the car is stock. Tell him yes, why? Says the tail light reflectors are supposed to have red in them or a red piece. I have the white tail lamps and I knew this, but MINI left em off and I didnt care cause they look ugly on the bumper. Told him I didnt realize and that Id have to take the car back to the dealer. He then asked how I liked the car, and told me to have a nice day. Now what to do... I dont want those hideous things on my bumper. Is there any smaller alternate thing I can attach to the car?

Buy some small reflectors that fit on the inside on the door on the Cooper & stick them at the very bottom, black plastic trim of your bumper. job done!

Sorry here is a bigger one
Door reflectors You should be able to buy them from your Mini dealer.
If not I have them in stock - they are listed on my site
I stick them on with Araldite a 2 part glue

My reflector solution

I purchased some reflectors (doesn't matter what; mine are actually for a Land Rover). They have holes on either side for screws. I screwed these into the black plastic mesh under the bumper on my MCS. Photo:

I read the statute on this, and according to the statute, the reflectors must be at least 15" above the ground. These do qualify. Total install time: about 5 minutes for both reflectors. I used black screws so they don't stand out. You barely see these unless light is reflecting onto them (in this picture, my flash makes them stand out). These are official rear reflectors, so they meet all of the standards for reflection of light, etc. Cost was $4 each. I'm sure you can get similar ones cheaper, but this was easy.

Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06]
