Just spoken to my dealer as I'm due to pick up my new Cooper tomorrow, turns out clear lights are back on sale but you have to fit the nasty BMW reflector kit. I don't know how they are going to regiment this though.

if they're not dealer fitted then its back to square one again because I can almost guarantee that some people will not fit the reflectors and this is what caused the original problem.
