Question Minis in the snow

My parents are little scared to let me get a mini because they think they are not safe in the snow. They're afriad it will get stuck or spin out with low ground clearence. Can anyone help me out!? Ive tried to tell them about all the saftey features and DSC and stuff but they just won't listen. Anyone have any ideas to get them to accept the fact the mini's drive good in the snow. Especially better then my brothers 1993 ford probe

Thanks guys

Search for snow, both in the galleries and in the forum. (Also check out the stickied snow tire gallery)

The only way you'll prove to them if is someone from the same area as you has driven a MINI and posted to show how well it did.

And btw: The FAQ on DSC should explain how its almost impossible to spin the tires because of the traction control aspect - and they are right about ground clearance, above 4" of snow, you might get stuck, but do you really expect to drive in more then 4" of unplowed snow? Its pretty rare most anywhere there's a MINI dealer. Otherwise with snow tires, you're fine. (Without you're on your own... some people have done ok, most people haven't)

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Fold the rear seats, travel to the store, and stockpile 2-weeks worth of back-up supplies at the start of winter?

Like stryder said, 4-inches of unplowed snow may be fine. The main problem is the plowed snow banks at the entrances of driveways and side streets. If they are much higher than than the minimum ground clearance of your car, you have a good chance of being stuck.
