Canada,eh? This wait is making me crazy!Reading about people south of the 49th driving home their MINI since last Friday!I'am #2 at my dealer for a launch edition and my car is still floating in Halifax harbor(on the ship I hope).I'am getting tired of looking at pictures,I wanna drive it!!!If they need help unloading the boat,I know 500 people that will help them! Since the middle of January I've been counting on driving my MINI home on the 22nd of March.....There I feel better now,got that off my chest.Oh well,at least us Canucks are paying MSRP.

I pick up my Launch edition Indi Blue with white Saturday, 9:00am. I'll post a poor picture of the tach (my camera is a toy). I'll be driving with wifey and kiddies, so I won't really be driving for a bit.... I'll keep you all informed. TINMAN, Nwoodiwis, don't worry...its going to happen for you.. I promise! PS Nick I took your advice and called them... about 12 times today. Did you have any luck with them? --- my money's on the little guy ---

(I'm having bonnet stripes put on) I'll see you Saturday as I'm there at 0900 to talk about lease financing...still trying to decide to lease or buy outright. I'll make sure to accost the guy picking up the the Indie Blue launch car ! Did they sell you on installing Boomerang2 (tracking system)? Cheers, Nick. | Re: Looks like Monday for me... what is Boomerang2 and what does it cost? (if its a tracking system for theft, I'd think that the insurance folks won't give a substantial discount until they have an idea of how popular a target the mini will be.) Your thoughts? --- my money's on the little guy --- |

Boomerang is a vehicle theft tracking system. Maybe you're heard of LoJack in the US, or TrackStar in the UK. Boomerang uses cellular technology, works anywhere in North America (including outside cellular coverage areas) and has a 98% recovery rate (much higher than LoJack or TrackStar). Since it does not use GPS and pager technology like the earlier systems, it is a live two-way communication system, with real-time location tracking. It also works in underground garages, and inside shipping containers. The average vehicle is recovered by Boomerang within the hour. My insurance company is telling me to get one as a condition of reasonable insurance premiums on a Cooper S, and will give me about a $20 discount a month. The Boomerang has a $12 a month subscription fee. They KNOW it will be a hot item. Incidentially, if the car is desireable enough, the imobilizer system and alarm on the MINI, including the fancy un-copy-able key, doesn't matter to the insurance company. BMW's get stolen VERY frequently. They just tow 'em, flat-bed 'em, or tractor-transport them. Check out this link: Boomerang Tracking Inc. Chilli Red/White Cooper S, Sport Pack & Sunroof. Delivered June 12th, 2002!Now with MCS Winter Tire Package.

yikes. I just wrote an exquisite review of my first two days, and included a picture of the tach for noahe, and the picture was too big and I lost the words. I'll try again later. For now I'll summarize: This car makes me happy! - 'nuff said - --- my money's on the little guy ---

Launch Edition here's my tach - best I could get on my crappy camera. It is very similar (if not exactly the same as) the sample at Mini.ca. I got 55/500. --- my money's on the little guy ---
