Offline | Fitted some new tyres to my MINI Cooper Well hardly sporting tyres but got some Goodyear EAGLE VENTURA 195/60 R15 H instead of the Pirelli 3000 175/65 R15 H as fitted as standard to the Pepper Pack on the Cooper. I wanted a little more grip cus I was losing traction too quickly, anyway got them from http://www.mytyres.net for £50 each. The Pirelli's were worn and wanted a change. Well what a transformation, Those Pirelli's must have been a pile of poo cus these are so so much better. Although I haven't driven hard on them yet it is obvious they have loads more grip as the car seems to dig in the tarmac more, they are quiter and wet weather performance is unbelivable, ( went round a roundabout pretty fast to see what they were like, the Pirelli's would have been understeering loads earlier ) I'm looking forward to terrorising the twisties now, Oh they also fill the arches better and look nicer. Here are the pics. http://www.mini2.com/gallery/persona...ery=angrybeats http://www.angrybeats.co.uk |

Offline | Very nice....but it would appear that someone has stolen your alloys whilst changing the tyres, and left you with some halfords wheel trims instead!! ![]() Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer. |

| Nice TTs......... | Ive been thinking of doing the same, fitting wider tyres - do you find they project a lot beyond the rim?? I suppose it would give great protection from kerbing if they did.... The 195/60 tyre only gives a 3mm increase in overall diameter, so I presume you havent noticed any change in acceleration? ![]() Global Moderator |

| MINI2 Global Moderator | Thank you for posting these pictures!! My Cooper has the same wheels and my front tyres are getting pretty worn now (11,600 miles) I have swapped them with the rear set for now but I intend on buying a complete set of wider tyres (195's) Can't wait now, good price too! ![]() the MINI has gone... |

Offline | No change in acceleration, they don`t really extend much beyond the Rim, and a 205 tyre would probably fit ok. Angrybeats a MINI driver who actually drives it as it was intended to be driven. http://www.angrybeats.co.uk |

Offline | I have only had them for a few days so haven't seen what the economy is like, don't care really as long as I'm having funny driving. Oh and Varse to the wheel trim comment & you have chosen a Red car ROFL ![]() http://www.angrybeats.co.uk |

Offline | Yes I have chosen a red car, well more brown some people have said, well spotted. The point being?? Don't worry should you ever lose one, people tend to pick them up and prop them up on verges at the side of the road. I'm only joking, chill..... life's a MINI adventure.. should be enjoyed and not taken too seriously. Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer. |

Offline | just looked at your picture and I see that your arch is not inline with the bonnet (hood) I have the same on the drivers side but I cannot remember it being like that when new.Maybe I just did not notice. ![]() |

Offline | Swapping fronts for rears Monsta, I heard that swapping your more worn out fronts with the rears is not a good idea. I remember seeing that on Top Gear a couple of years ago and my dealer said the same thing when I was considering doing that on my old car. Apparently more grip is needed out back to stop it stepping out. Hey, but then again isn't that half of the fun? ![]() |

Offline | and always will be, just the 7 holes! I was only joking, as with all MINI stuff, each to their own and thats the idea. Didn't realise angrybeats couldn't handle a bit of friendly banter. I won't try again.Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer. |
