Offline | I've tried using the search function but it didn't return the right result! Whenever I try and test my alarm by arming it, then opening the door. The alarm doesn't go off until I get into the car. Does this happen to yours? cheers Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Carnegie |

Offline | Might be a daft question, but... How do you arm the alarm without locking the doors? As soon as I press the remote button, the doors lock and alarm is set... Or am I missing something? ![]() Indie Blue/White Cooper ordered - Expecting Late March... hang on - make that mid March. No, wait - it's here!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!! ![]() ![]() |

Offline | I arm the car by pressing my key, this also locks the car. Then I open the car door by using the key ![]() Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Carnegie |

Offline | What's also weird is that it's meant to flicker rapidly for 10 seconds, than flicker slowly. But just now, it didn't even flicker rapidly. There was no light for 10 seconds then it flickered slowly. Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Carnegie |

Offline | Have to say, I haven't even used the key yet (sooo last year )But yes, I was told that using the key would disarm the alarm as well - even the emergency key. I'll have a go tomorrow and see what happens - don't think the neighbours would be too impressed with me testing several things about the alarm at this time ![]() Indie Blue/White Cooper ordered - Expecting Late March... hang on - make that mid March. Offline | I locked my brother in the car and made him sit still until the rapid flashing stopped. Then got him to wave his arms. Result: Bloody loud siren and flashing lights Just bring the wife out to "try something new in the MINI" and hope she doesn't take it the wrong way ![]() Indie Blue/White Cooper ordered - Expecting Late March... hang on - make that mid March. | Test thread infiltrator | I can arm my alarm with the remote and disarm with the key just fine, no loud sirens, flashy lights or other adventurous antics... I've also found that if you leave the window open and set the alarm, it goes off. Similar little trick, lock the car with the key and hold the key turned in the locked position - windows go up. Hold it in unlocked, windows go down. Now if only it could be done with the remote... Dom |

| Nice TTs......... | You should be able to, or at least, the Car Key Memory should be able to be programmed to close the windows by using the remote facility, I think its even possible to programme them to lower the windows. I know this is possible in the 3 Series BMW, especially the Coupe, reason being, it was possible to lower the coupes frameless windows, to ease access in tight spaces, such as car parks. Same system in the MINI, so same should be possible ??!! ![]() Global Moderator |

Offline | Another useful tip. If you press the lock button on your remote key twice when locking the car you will set the alarm but de-activate the internal sensors and the tilt mechanism, useful for leaving animals/children in the car or putting your car on a boat/aeroplane.
