HELP: Italian to English translation

Hi All,

Is anyone here fluent in Italian? I need some help deciphering some ferry details for the Stelvio or Bust run.

I tried babelfish, but as usual its idea of a translation is some garbled text that doesn't make sense in any language

Thanks
Stuart

Try PMing Frodo. He lives in Italy, but is an American. He may be able to help or may have friends who could help.

Thanks for the all the help folks

Basically I need to figure out the timetables and the cost per car of crossing Lake Como between Varenna and Menaggio, and then crossing Lake Maggiore between Laveno and Intra.
Any ideas about the capacity of the ferry (number of cars) would be great as well.

The website that uses 128-bit encyption (more commonly know as Italian ) to display this information is: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/

The first correct answer wins the non-exclusive right to help promote Stelvio or bust 2004

Wigley... I live in the US but was born near Lake Como. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world (I think), so I hope you enjoy it. I think I can help you deicpher the timetables. Check out this link for timetables on Lake Coma between Varenna and Menaggio on weekdays: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/itali...04.htm#varenna

There are a number of timetables listed here, but they say (in English) what port they are departing from, so you should be able to figure it out.

The same information, for holidays, is here: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/itali...304.htm#varnna

A straight shot between the two ports should cost you E6.90 one way, round trip is double that.

The Lake Maggiore timetable is here, this one is good until April 3, it's pretty easy to figure out the ports: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/itali...avenintra1.htm

After April 3, use this timetable: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/itali...Intra%2004.htm

One way trip on Lake Maggiore should be E6.80 one way, round trip is double that.

I couldn't find any info on how many cars, only passenger counts, which do seem to vary quite a bit, between 100 and 1000 passenger capacity.

Hope that helps, good luck!

-gb
