Hi Peg,

The 2005 convertibles should hopefully arrive sometime late August or early September. No prices have been released yet by MINI but they will probably be a few thousand dollars more than a regular MINI. Who do you use to ship the cars? Also how long does it take to get the car delivered to Southern California?

We use a couple of different transporters depending on where the MINI is being shipped to. It takes on average 3 weeks to get to CA from when the MINI is picked up at our dealership. Sometimes it gets there faster but 3 weeks is a safe estimate. Most transporters will not leave until the have a full truck so a MINI may have to wait a few days before it leaves for the west coast.

3 weeks sounds pretty good. How are damages that occur through shipping handled? That's the only thing that I worry about having a car shipped across the country.

Although damage is rare the shipping company usually handles damage that occurs during shipping. The cars are thoroughly inspected here by the shipping company to be sure there is no damage when it leaves and a damage report is signed stating the car is fine. The most important part is that the customer thoroughly inspects the car when it arrives. If there is anything wrong they need to note it right then and there with the shipper. The only time we have ever had a problem is when customer at a later date after receiving the car says they have found something. In those instances we usually have worked it out so all parties are satisfied.

If I build a Mini at the MiniUSA site, is that the same price as you sell your Mini's? How does the credit work when a car needs to be shipped?

The price is the same. MSRP. Just note that the prices for accessories on the MINIUSA site do not include labor charges for installation or painting if needed. As far as shipping goes you choose your shipper and we will give you a credit towards it.

Moth,

Im looking for a Coopers S, Red with white roof and white bonnet stripes, Premium (sunroof is a must) and Sport packages with performance tires and the new 3 spoke steering.

On the interior Im lookin for standard silver interior trim instead of alloy patina and Cardoba leather instead of the standard black (if possible).

My local dealer told me it would take "10" months before they could deliver it I would have to wait 7 months before I could spec it and another 3 months for it to be delivered after that.

How soon could you supply this car according to my specifications?

I live in Los Alamitos California which is right next to Long Beach.

Hi Johnsocal,

If we were to special order your MCS today it would be built in the middle of May and would arrive at our dealership sometime during the middle of June. It takes approximately two to three weeks from when it arrives here to get to CA. I have a red MCS with a white roof in stock that is almost what you are looking for. I will email you the specifications.

The credit goes towards the shipping costs. It helps when sending a MINI across the country. We do take trade-ins and an ordered MCS would arrive here in June.
