Offline | Nashville MINI Pricing I would like to know what other potential MINI buyers on the MINI list at MINI of Nashville have heard regarding what they will be paying for their new cars. 1.I was told by the person in charge that I would be paying for my Cooper S as follows: MSRP + options + 10%= my deal. 2.I have heard at least 1 person state on this site that they would be purchasing at MSRP.(told this on 2 different occasions). Seems we have 2 stories going. Anybody on the list at MINI of Nashville care to comment? What's up? ![]() |

Offline | I have been on the MINI of Nashville list since last August. This is the first I have heard about the additional 10%. One of the reasons I chose this dealership was their repeated promise of selling at MSRP. Since the dealer will not be open for a while, I have felt it would not be that useful to try to talk specifics yet. But this is disturbing news and may cause me to rethink my plans. I would be interested in what Normalizer and others in the area have heard. |

Offline | I went in yesterday to MINI of Nashville to spec out my Cooper S (am 1st on the list), and while there, attempted to confirm before ordering my car that I would be paying MSRP. I was told 15 months ago (when I placed my deposit with them) by my salesperson that Sonic Automotive did not charge over MSRP on their cars, as witnessed by them selling all their Z8's, M3's, and M5's at sticker. Larry Barbro (the MINI sales manager) didn't have an answer for me as to pricing (so I left), but I politely told him that they had two choices: 1) To sell me the car at MSRP or 2) If they attempted to charge me over sticker, then two things would happen - One, I would not buy the car, and two, I would never buy another car from Sonic Automotive again (they own BMW and MINI of Nashville). We've bought 5 new and 2 used cars from them the past 15 years, so I consider myself a very loyal customer. Guess we'll see how this loyalty on my part pays off real soon, won't we? I should hopefully know something soon, and will post what MINI of Nashville decides to do. |

Offline | Mike - good luck to you - I hope that Sales Manager sees the long term implications over the short term ones. If Nashville is jacking you on price - take a trip down to Atlanta and see Hank Aaron BMW. They have NO mark-up on the 'S' (and Mini) and have a very strong relationship with the distributor (thanks to Hank). This dealership is considered one of the flag-ship Mini dealers in the country (so I am told). -Peter RSpeed Mini * Mini Performance and Accessories from around the world * http://www.rspeed.net |

Offline | I didn't hear from MINI of Nashville today (as I thought I would) regarding what pricing I'm getting, so I'll call tomorrow and find out. I sure hope they see that the possibility of selling me an additional 5 to 7 cars over the next 15 years is more important (and profitable) than trying to make a quick buck on the MINI and losing me as a customer forever. We'll see... |

Offline | MikeNsx, I'll be interested to see if you get MSRP. I would hope they would give you MSRP recognizing you as a valued customer now and for future good will and sales. Seem like a smart dealer would know good business practice. Good luck. Lemooz ![]() |

Offline | Great news!!! I just got off the phone with the GM of BMW (and MINI) of Nashville, and he told me that I will be paying MSRP to buy my Cooper S. I am really excited about this, and will forever remain a loyal customer of this dealership because of this. They have always treated me with respect and honesty and integrity over these many years that my wife and I have dealt with them, and this goes to prove I made the right decision to buy my Cooper S from them. Way to go MINI of Nashville, and thank you Russell! My son, Brad, who really wants this car for his 16th birthday (which will be in 2 years), will be thrilled. Now I just have to decide what color I want to get instead of waiting for Indi Blue. Probably red...no, maybe Dark Silver...no, perhaps Electric Blue... |

Offline | Glad to hear your dealer is going to treat you fairly (doesn't that say a lot about the current state of MINI dealers in the US?) ![]() But are you seriously thinking, in two years time, of letting a 16 year old loose with a Cooper S?! Hey, all of us remember how badly we wanted to drive when we were 16, but how many of us remember how badly we drove? Offline | Mike, just went by after work (didn't know about this thread at the time either) and talked to Phillip Johnson (BMW salesman who took my deposit last year) as well as Larry (MINI Mgr.) and Jay (Parts Mgr). First of all, they were just setting up the surveyor's equipment as I pulled in, groundbreaking should be any day now quite literally. ![]() In talking to Phillip, he said that it was kind of the unspoken order from Sonic NOT to sell over MSRP but that anything could happen between now and when cars actually get here. Although he made sure that I understood that this is not official from MINI of Nashville, he told me that it is expected that all those who got on the list will pay MSRP with no mandatory addons, no mention of a 10% upcharge. All buyers not on the list now have a good chance of paying above MSRP and/or addons. In talking to Larry confirmed the wait on BRG, Black, and Electric Blue for the S. When asked for his thoughts comparing the Cooper to the Cooper S he got very visibly excited, almost stammering, when describing the S. Might be salesman BS but he sounded honest when he talked about how awesome the S was. Jay, parts guy, showed me the MINI accessories catalog and talked about them and the other things coming down the pike. He said he didn't like the idea of the factory roof rack, as the roof has to be drilled to install it, but that it seemed quality. Coolest item had to be the fitted car covers.... VERY neat! Also discussed JCW conversions, said it looks like they are going to be done possibly in conjunction with Dinan and that it is almost assured that it will be done by the MINI dealers and covered under warranty. Mike - did they call you about spec'ing your car or did you contact them? Larry said he'd been trying to email me but never said why, and nothing was mentioned to me while I was there. Looks like my spot on the list might just result in me getting a Sept. car anyway so I might not have to rule out the on-hold colors afterall. |

Offline | Normalizer, Larry contacted me about spec'ing out my car, but after my conversation with Russell (the GM) today, I believe they're not quite ready yet to spec out my car (or any car). Should be soon though. They are good people down at BMW (MINI) of Nashville. I'm sure you'll enjoy dealing with them. |
