Photo taken Saturday in Mexico City, 4:30am. Driver (22 y/o male) died on impact (US Mini has driver on the left).

What a waste of a life ... not to mention the car.
4:30 AM Saturday... a very good chance that alcohol was involved in that crash.

ouch. being the drivers side too. no amount of side impact protection is going to save a driver there.

ditto. Still amazes me how people can end up crashing a car that way. If it had been a frontal impact into that lampost, they probally would've ended up hurt, but not fatal. Commiserations anyhow.

How did that happen? Seems like a pretty unusual position for the car to be in. Rammed from the other side?? Caught in a spin?

The lights still seem to work though..

This is an old pic. It didn't happen yesterday as the poster claims. I have seen this pic circulating in different MINI boards for over a year.

Also the way that car was wrapped around the light pole, suggests the driver was going well over 90-100MPH...usual suspect: Alcohol.

Yes it is very sad...and it is a reminder to be responsible behind the wheel, no matter what you are driving.

I'm closing this thread, as this picture has been posted before, along with other crash photos.

The user seems to NOT come from Mexico either, so I have no idea the purpose of this post.
