Wink Thinking of swapping for BMW 1-Series?

I've not had my Mini long, but I must admit I like the look of the new BMW 1-Series.

I might be tempted into having a closer look nearer the launch date.

Anyone else thinking along the same lines or am I a bit odd?!?

Seriously though, I have seen the pics and can't make my mind up - from some angles it looks ok and others pretty crap IMHO. The MINI has the looks and the charm to forgive the packaging shortcomings - I'm not sure the 1-series has.

I have to admit, it does look strange from the rear.

Also, there may be the odd teething problem with early models - despite BMWs 'exhaustinve' testing!!

The Mini look great from all angles.

Definately not! I have no desire at all to own one of the unbearably dull 4.2m family hatchbacks.

Why would you want to drive a BMW?

Would like to see one myself. Like a hatchback but read that BMW will not offer that in the states--just a 4 or 2 door I think-- What's the MSRP on that puppy going to be, anyone know?
If the MINI turns unreliable in the next few years that could be an option. BMW dealer about 175 miles closer than MINI dealer.
You may well be odd, but not for this I don't think.

Looks like only a very slightly upmarket Nissan Micra.

Not my cup of tea, better be good to compete in the market though. Could be interesting in the future if we want a large(r) hatch back car.

Ive thought about this - there are a few things putting me off though, firstly there will be millions of them about and unlike the MINI they don't have the personality and indivduality to carry it off.

Secondly, having looked at an X3 recently which shares its interior with the 1 series I think it looked very tack inside, not much quality. Just my opinion though.

I'm waiting for the coupe or convertible.
The styling cues are all there from the gourgeous 1-series convertible concept so hopefully the production model will be very similar

I just need to wait for the "alleged" 250bhp M2 ;to be released then it's MINI, what the heck is one of those

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime
