I finally picked up my Cooper yesterday afternoon, after many delays! Ohmygod! Slapped my 'L'oser plates on straight away and drove it home. Nearly killed myself once cos I found the accelerator and brake to be much closer together than in the Corsa I'd been driving. Felt very comfortable & was surprised about the quietness of the engine (from inside). Found it difficult to judge at first when to shift gears cos I was used to listening to the engine, not looking at the revs!

Cant stand it that they are driving in it and experiencing the feeling of having theyre own Mini.

Still 3 weeks to go before i will have that feeling also.

I was never a fan of black but with the S spokes it looks fantastic! Good luck with your driving test

I've never owned a black car; a nightmare to keep clean?

Also... you've got all your toggle switches, all the ones I saw in the dealership were missing one (fog lights?)

Bloody hell I thought Id spent enough on mine that little lot must have cost £17000 plus!!!!!! Anyway on thing that you havn't got which Im also planning to retro-fit to mine when it arives is the clear side repeaters they would finish the look off perfect. You should be very proud

We have to have rear fog lights over here which would explain the lack of switch in the US... I would buy a switch from the MINI parts dept if I was missing one!

Passing my test is next!!!

Then clear lights & side repeaters & chrome, LOTS of chrome!!! Mwahahahahahaaaa! Those side repeaters NEED to be in chrome!!!

As for keeping it clean, well it picked up quite a bit of dirt on the way home. Thing is I live up a 1 mile dirt road. So keeping it clean is difficult. Before those photos I did of course give it a quick wipe!

PS Was quite impressed by the sound system, not bad for a manufacturer's spec! Am reconsidering buying a new head unit, cos the original looks great inside already!

Our MINI is the same colour, and again, living in the country, the roads are quite dusty, so in the dry, the car picks up a coating of dust, and in the wet, mucky splashes.

I think owing a black car means Ill have to take up a second job......permanently washing it !! It is beautiful when clean, on a sunny day like today, but fairly rough looking when dirty !!

How do you do it? I would be going out of my mind this lovely new MINI sitting on the drive and you can't take it for a drive on your own. I know I could hack it. Have fun when you get your baby out on your own.

Well my Mini still looks great! I've only done 160 miles in it though, cos I haven't passed my test yet! :'-(
Battery's flat at the moment, I was doing a bit of reverse parking practice last week in my 'garage' and somehow managed to leave the lights on! Haven't been able to take it out for a drive yet and charge it up again!
I've got my test on monday although I've discovered to my horror that I can't take my test in my car! I can't get the thing down to the test center, so I've got to take it in a little Vauxhall Corsa which I haven't driven in 2 months! Oh well, I'll give it my best shot, although I'm not very hopeful!
