Offline | Is there any new crash test data on the Cooper? I don't think tests have yet been done in the States (where I am), but how about in the U.K. or the Continent? Thanks! |

Offline | I didn't think it was legal to sell a mass produced vehicle here without first performing a crash test. Perhaps there's a magic number that qualifies it as mass produced. Say 20,000? If so, what if MINI only delivers 19,999 cars this year? |

Offline | Re: Crash Testing Welcome to MINI2! Here's some of the info you want: http://www.mini2.com/news/news.php?id=27 http://www.mini2.com/news/news.php?id=30 http://www.mini2.com/editorials/editorials.php?id=18 Also, several of our more adventurous members have unfortunately bent some sheet metal on their MINIs - sometimes posting pictures of the sad results. Use the Search function for the obvious words like "crash" or "accident" if you want more detailed first-hand information. + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Thanks very much for your help! I visisted MINI of Manhattan yesterday and saw for myself how hefty the side panels/doors of the car are. They close with a very satisfying "thunk"! For its size, the MINI seems very safe. But it's good to know that crash testing proves it. Now if I can just convince my wife to learn how to drive stick! (Since the very idea of an automatic MINI is an abomination). Thanks again. |

Offline | Keep checking this link to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration here in the U.S. At the present time, of course, all the data entry fields are "TBT" (To Be Tested?) http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/NCAP/Cars/1932.html |
