United-Kingdom Am I The Only Person With A Jcw Cooper???

Greetings to all!
Just joined, so this is my first posting! I have been browsing the forums for a while now, but I have not yet come accross anyone who has a JCW Cooper, only people with a JCW Cooper 'S'. I would love to hear from people who also have a JCW Cooper. I am doing a couple of mods at the moment, I hope to have some pics done soon to show you all. At the moment I have.....

* JCW kit
* 17" S spoke Alloys
* Dealer fitted DVD player
* Chilli pack
* Chrome side repeaters with JCW badges

Welll I don't have the JCW's kit (to be honest I'll wait till I get an S before I get a JCW conversion) but I do have the JCW's wheels.....and soon maybe the JCW seats.

Welcome to MINI2!

Well if it were a runner I'd let you know, but its being rebuilt after a bit of a shunt (I'm not the original owner)
About 6 to 8 weeks before it gets its new paint job, then lookout

I just got my JCW tuning kit installed a couple of days ago. I'm still in the break-in period so don't know yet if it helped my hp. It sounds a little better than it did with just the KN CAI that was already on it. What I want to know is, do I still need a MTH powerchip from Franz. Would it help even more?

I got my JCW in july and its my pride and joy. I think they are a bit rare, not seen another one but then that makes it a bit special.

I was tempted to get a JCW but wanted to see if anyone thought they were any good. eg. the performance kits, like the air box and the exhuast whether it makes a difference or not?

Are you on about the grill that the side repeater sits in?

On the Cooper Works (not the S) the car has Works badges on these side grills as part of the kit. They are solid metal badges with bolts attached to the rear then two nuts hold them to the grill.

I personally didn't like the black plastic grills, so changed mine to the Shark Fin ones. With a little modifcation I managed to refit the JCW badges to these grills.

As far as I know unless you have a Cooper Works you cannot get the side grill badges.

There's a heap of Aussies with the JCW conversion - just do a search on MINI2 for "JCW" and you should get one or two threads

Ah! So the side badges come with the Cooper kit and not with the S kit - got it. I have the S kit (03 + upgrade) but thought the side badges were pretty cool. I'm going to see what I can do to get a pair. Thanks for the help!

Yeah that's right. The reason they don't do them with the S kit is because the S already has S on the side grill but, they are a one piece unit, so the S can't be removed to replace it with a Works badge.

Good luck in trying to get hold of them.

Thanks - shouldn't be too hard. I'll get my dealer to figure out what the part number is . . .
If not - oh well

I think you'll get the part number but the only problem is you may find that it includes an exhaust, an air filter, and a head too
