Offline | Hi All, Just found the site - I can see a large phonebill is likely from now on!! Has anyone had any problems with the DSC on the MCS? This has saved my life on one occasion when a little overexuberance saw me heading for a deep ditch until it pulled me back - standing water in the middle of a fast S bend is not what you want to find! So I don't want to switch it off. However, on certain indeterminate road surfaces at junctions, when I am trying to insert into a stream of fast moving traffic, I am left barely moving in the middle of the traffic! Scary!! As I can't tell in advance when this will happen, I cannot turn DSC off for that junction - well, I could, but this would have to be done at every junction. It seems that the system is set too finely - any way round this? |

Offline | Hi Moose, If you want a fast start - good example, a T-junction coming onto a fast A-road - then the DSC can hold you back. You've no option but to turn the DSC off for a few seconds. This way you take 100% control and have direct control over the speed at which you're applying power and pulling away. I've turned DSC off on a few occasions like this, but I don't think you need to (or should!) necessarily have it off for normal driving. Just remember to turn it back on... just in case! ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Upgrade your car's ECU to v.36 and you'll find the ASC/DSC allows for much more wheelspin and is much less likely to kill the engine while pulling out into traffic.
