Offline | I got the blue isofix child seat (it is in the accessories brochure) from my dealer - it was my options list as we had our first baby about 2 after I picked up the Cooper. And the BMW isofix seat will last until your child is about 12 years old, depending on how well you feed 'em of course. When it is in possition in the isofix fittings it is absolutely rock solid even when you are leaning thru' a bend at 70mph+ I think they do a red isofix seat as well It is a bit pricey, but what isn't when you have a kid ![]() |

Offline | I've a BMW 3 series with ISOFIX. I could only get an ISOFIX seat from the dealer. Tried Mothercare + Halfords etc no good. The seat also fits the mini (being ISOFIX standard). Pricy at £200, but as stated above - Rock solid - worth every penny. When I get my Cooper S I know my boy will feeling every corner but in safety. |

Offline | Renault I've got the Renault isofix seat since I had it before getting the MINI for my other car. It costs about £150 and has they don't sell them very well they offer you good rebates : I get mine for less than £100 so it's half the price the BMW is. Of course it might not be so pretty ? ? ? But you can ask your wife to change the cover (that is removable) and tint it in the color of your MINI seats ! See my post below but I'm very pleased with the handle and the way the seat fixes in the MINI isofix system. Hope I won't be bored with the car |

Offline | Kinster re 5 month baby. It all goes on the weight of the child, I think it is something like 9lbs and above, so if my Niamh is anything to go by she won't be in the MINI until she is about 6 months. But the seat has 3 sections built in including a booster so you can use it until they are about 12 years old. |

Offline | BMW Seat instructions said 9months old and 9Kg is the minimum, but my son was about 15lb and 6months when he went into the seat as he out grew his first one. It all depends on the size of the kid as the BMW/MINI seat uses a bolster across the front to hold the kid in. They need to be big enough so their head and shoulders are above bolster. |

Offline | Any US drivers out there find a child seat to fit yet? I'm considering the MINI as a Miata replacement just because it has a "backseat" and was wondering what the child seat fit is like. It seems that the US seat sellers are not getting into the ISOFIX market just yet, even though the mounts are required on all new cars. Its gotta be a lawyer thing... Thanks for any tips. |
