Advice needed!!

I ordered my Cooper a couple of weeks ago....IB/W roof/mirrors, 17" s-spokes, SS+, tinted, auto air con, Harman Kardon, CD, Chilli pack. Bring it on!!

Thing is, it's a company car...not a worry really, but as I'm a quantity surveyor, it means that I'll be driving to all sorts of construction sites in all sorts of weather..meaning a lot of dirt, pot-holes, muddy boots...basically, a MINI hell environment!!

My main worries are driving through muddy pot holed roads and changing my muddy boots into clean shoes without getting ANY dirt near the interior of Indy!!!

Any strategies for this predicament would be very welcome!!

Ok, you and I have a lot in common. Mini is a IB/W with a lot of extras. It is a company car and spometimes I take it to building sites. I hate getting it dirty so I invested in rubber mats which are superb and I now prefer them to the carpet mats. You can also buy rubber mats for the boot and keep work shoes in there. No real solution for pot holes other than to go very slowly over them as with SS plus you will feel the bumps. I have just started using Auto Glym alloy wheel seal which sprays a barrier on the alloys to make them easier to clean. Will let you know how I get on.

Good advice. Where do you get the rubber mats from...are they mini specific?

My MINI is a lease car that I got for my community job - I work near farms and frequently drive along pot-holed roads. My advice is just accept your car will get dirty and become as obsessed as I am with cleaning it every few days...then the anxiety reduces for a few days and then increases gradually until you clean it again! I just have carpet mats and I have found that regular sweeping keeps the interior mess at bay! Just enjoy it...and hand it back to your company at a later date and get a brand new clean one! Much better deal I think!
Happy motoring!

I got the mats from Wellsway in Bath. They were £25 for the two front mats and are great as they have a chunky circular patern on them that matches other circles in the dash etc. I have since read that some folks got rubber mats thrown in for free.

I guess you are in bristol by your name. Minisoopercooper has set up a club called the new mini severns and we arrange local runs and days out. You should come along. We are doing a run in cardiff soon and going to do a trip to cowley to see the mini being built. If you are interested you need to go to the social section in the forums and look up new mini severns in the uk section and sign up. We recently did a run to gaydon which was great and had 30 plus cars. I think it has been covered in the next edition of go mini mag.

Maybe see you on a run when you get your car.
