Heated jets/ mirrors

Hi,
Does anyone know where the controls are for the heated jets/ mirrors?

Are they worth having?

There aren't any controls for these. They come on with the ignition. They're not temprature dependent, I thought mine would've melted in this recent hot spell!!
I know kinda weird, I thought it would have worked with the rear heater as it did in my golf.

I'm pretty sure these work with the rear windscreen heater. I've got them and they appear to, switch on, stick your arm out the window, and hey presto a hot mirror! Switch off and they cool down.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Varse's Velvet Beauty Mk11 is no longer, sold back to my dealer.

Hmmm...maybe it was just the heat of the sun then over the easter baking them to a nice toastie temperature!
I'm sure the manual says they stay on all the time.
I'll check it out when I go home tonight.
Hang on, that's if BMW bring it back from the garage....
They have left me a nice 325 though, maybe they can keep it a day or two.
Yeah like everyone else I've got those minor niggles:
Dodgy vanity mirror light, heated seat switches wired up the wrong way around and that mysterious knocking in the boot area.

Mine are DEFINITELY on all the time and there is no switch - the handbook backs this up.

The heated mirrors have been superb over winter time for keeping rain/mist/ice off. THey should be standard.

If they are on all off the time doesn't that zap fuel consumption like a heated rear window would?

The heated washers and mirrors are activated when you put the key in the ignition.

That's what it says in my manual (I think)

Dealer told me that they come on with the heated rear window. Makes sense as no need for them to be on all the time..
