First blemish on the W'rknCooper!

Well, Winston the W'rknCooper, as I've been calling him, got his first scratch today , its actually more of a scrape. I was rounding a corner in DC (M st. making a right onto New Hampshire) and I hit the wheel against the curb. The corner was about 130 degrees, not the usual 90, so I had to turn extra sharp to avoid going into oncoming traffic and WHAM, the wheel hit. Its not too bad, its about 2 inches long, maybe shorter, and about a quarter of an inch wide. Oh well, I guess it was bound to happen some day. I guess you could say my car lost its V-card

Ouch, sorry to hear that. At least it's on the wheels and not on the paint. Maybe they're just as bad but to me most people upgrade their wheels sometime down the road so it's not as a big problem.

Car is only good as the driver.

consider yourself fortunate... ive been in 3 wrecks with my MINI in 2 years... pretty major ones too... but none have been my fault. ive had the door replaced twice (by a hit and run and my bro backed into me), and a stupid girl cracked the mess out of my rear bumper. youd think being in a smaller car, people could friggin dodge you or something haha, guess not.

I had a cooper at 6 weeks old someone backed into the rear wing, a few months later some idiots 16ft ladder went through the front windscreen. Then to top it vandals keyed Hi on the passenger door in foot high letters. We sold that car.....

Thats kinda what I was thinking, I definitely would like to get different wheels down the road.

As for you other guys, yikes! I hope nothing like that happens to my car. I'm really paranoid about parking it on the streets of DC, I se so many idiots running into other cars while parking or leaving their spot. A friend of mine hooked me up with free parking at his apartment building. Its 20 minutes away including riding the metro and walking, but its worth it, if you've ever parked in DC you'll understand why.

Kinda did the same to my MINI the other day, but mine was simple not paying attention. I clipped a curb while I was parking. Put a two inch long scrape on my rim. Oops! Also got hit by a rock in the windshield yesterday. Got a little pinpoint nick. Wouldn't even really care that much, but it's dead center in the windshield driver side!!

Oh well!

I feel ya. I parked on M street tonight to go to dinner at Clydes and was sooo worried the whole dinner about my mini sitting along busy M street.

Hmmm...I think you park at my apartment building. Rosslyn Heights? I almost hit a BRG mini last week as I was flying into the parking lot. Sorry if it was you. Whoever it was they were nice and smiled despite my horrible driving. I love nice mini drivers. Anyhow, there is a BRG mini that I occassionally see in my garage with a GW sticker on the back. Is it you?

Coming soon to a road near you!

No, its Potomac Towers, across Lee Highway from the Courthouse Stop. No stickers on my MINI yet, so it can't be me. I've got a Cheat window cling that I'm going to put on it soon (from homestarrunner.com), and I was going to put a long GW sticker at the top of the back window, but the rear wiper goes up so far that it'll scrape, guess I'll have to find one that goes on the inside of the window. *shrug*

I parked it for the night up off of Mass Ave. up a little ways from Dupont, it was kind of a dark area so I'm a bit worried, but the neighborhood seems nice enough. I'm just glad I have that H/K inconspicuous deck.

Nooooooooo!

Evil curbs. They should be those cool sloped ones we now have in new subdivisions and upmarket suburbs. I propose this change for the sake of every wheel that has ever been gouged!
