Offline | According to this bmw fan site i was on "M2 M-Power 240Bhp version planned, but at least 3 years away at present" Dunno if i can wait that long and i would have hoped for a bit more power than 240bhp in an M. Certainly does look the part in that pic though 2003 DS/DS Cooper S |

Offline | A BMW M2 would be a fantastic replacement for my MCS, but it won´t be available in the next 3 years and it won´t be sold for under 36.000 € or so. There are actually 3 theories going through the magazines concerning the engine for the M2. 1) A 2-litre-4-cylinder-turbo with about 240 bhp 2) A 2.4-litre 4-cylinder high-reving version with also 240 bhp (remember first M3) 3) A simplified version of the actual M3 engine, 3.2-litre 6-cylinder with about 300 bhp. The last one would cost at least 40.000 € and therefore heads for a totally different category than any MINI derivate possibly could. I´m actually thinking of replacing my MCS by a 120i in 2007 or 2008. I love the 1-series. ![]() Klaus Don´t bother me with: Vans, SUVs and Grandpatronic |

Offline | 240bhp just doesnt sound enough for me. An 'M' should definatly have sub 6 seconds 0-60 times at least, and i odnt think 240bhp in that car would be enough. I hope its the 3.2 engine, then i would be tempted, but 3 years is too far away to bother waiting. Im torn about the 1 series myself. Ive only seen the 5 door version and it looks a bit too dull. Have to wait til the 3 door/coupe comes out and i hope it looks a bit more sporty. Do like the push button start tho! 2003 DS/DS Cooper S |
