Somewhere on MINI2 are the latest body color/roof color poll data from MINI2 owners. Frankly, I can't remember exactly which thread contained this data. However, I did cut and paste it into a spreadsheet to briefly analyze the information. Following is what I have casually concluded (right or wrong) from the data.

Please note that I used a subset of the posted data; I eliminated body colors = "Other" and roof colors = "Other". Also note that the sorted data can be found at the link below:

MCS Color Poll Data

In order of occurance (high to low) by body color (regardless of roof color), the following is represented:

1. Dark Silver
2. Electric Blue
3. Indi Blue
4. Chili Red
5. BRG
6. Solid Black
7. Pure Silver
8. Liquid Yellow
9. Pepper White
10. Cosmos Black
11. Silk Green
12. Velvet Red

The top 5 body color/roof color combos are:

1. Dark Silver/Black
2. Electric Blue/White
3. Indi Blue/White
4. Dark Silver/White
5. Chili Red/White

Other Info:

- Dark Silver occurs almost twice as much as any other MINI color
- Dark Silver/Black comprises half the Dark Silver combos (479) and alone represents more occurances that any other body color/roof color combo
- Cosmos Black occurs the least of any current production color
- 50% of MINI2 folks purchase a white roof, 35% a black roof and 15% a body color roof

Wow. Thats surprises me quite a bit.

Sort of glad I didnt go for the Dark Silver on my MCS. Good to know my PS/B combo wont be seen everywhere

Yeah, gotta say I didn't realise DS was twice as popular as the next colour. For mine, DS/DS is the best way to go if you want DS.

When I was looking around for MCS, I checked out a DS/DS used car up at Medowie. Quite the go.

But twice as popular as EB is a massive surprise.

Yeah who would've thought. It's ok though I'm not really buying the MCS for its uniqueness. That's just a nice side dish

It may be worth mentioning again that this data represents the MCSs purchased by MINI2 respondents only and may or may not indicate real world production trends. To put that in perspective, the 3200 MCSs in the poll comprise less that 1% of total MINI production.
