We should petition BMW to make this into an option or put it in MINI accessories catalog...

I haven't had the chance but make sure to check out the video.

I think they should install this on air plane cockpit doors to protect against terrorists.

After an all you can eat Burrito extravaganza. I love the part about how it just blinds the attacker, then you get to see the tape of the guy putting out the manequin that is obviously on fire.

Finally something to put in that middle switch position.

My company has a number of expats in South Africa. Several years ago I was told the first person to have his car equipped with that was a high ranking officer in the South African Police Service in Johannesburg!

There is a manufacturer already fitting deterrents to it's cars.....comes in the form of a silver H on a red square.....only about 2"x2"......

The most common anti-hijacking device used in South Africa is a gun. Usually left next to the handbrake. Quite worrying when you first get into the car and ask the driver why they've got it.

I lived in SA for some years and yes it is f..... dangerous driving around with a nice car. Especially at night and being white. This anti hijacking toaster is legal as you have the right to protect yourself and your property. Having a gun right next to you is not such a good idea. If you are hijacked and these guys see your hands are moving towards the bottom of the seat, they shoot you instantly. Most of the time they do that anyway just for the fun of it. They don’t care if you have wife and kids in the car.
It’s a shame and it makes me angry that one of the most beautiful countries in the world is going down the drain.
