Hmmm....

What's the betting that there will be a "black market" in 170hp upgrades for existing MCS owners...???

Or is it just the JCW chip upgrade, less the mechanical work...???

The base price has gone up a bit too........

[Runs to look at the JCW site for details......]

I think they should offer it as an upgrade if it cures things like the yo-yo.

I really like that.

I want one.

Do you think there's much of a waiting list?

So has the new Cooper S got a five speed box? Also it has 170bhp?

I love having a six speed.

I am soooo glad I didn't wait for an '05. I love my Indi Blue.

Some of the additions seem cool like the larger rear view mirror, extra storage areas, etc., but I am much happier with the overlook look for the '04 and wouldn't give it up for the added features of the '05 if I could...especially at the higher price.

Coming soon to a road near you!

Converting those prices to dollars won't reflect what you'll pay in the US. 17k in GBP is 30k in USD.

About the addition of the 5 speed Gertrag, does this mean that there's no more 6 speed in the MCS? Seems a shame to me if thats the case.

Are they still going to go for new engine's at a later date? And why are those wheels exclusive to the convertible? They'd look great on an 'S'.

The S will still have six speeds according to the specs I have, but you're right, the article from BMW reads as though the Cooper S will have a five speed. I woulnd't trust that though, the 6 speed is staying.

Yes they are, this is nothing to do with the next generation MINI with the BMW/PSA Group engines.

The wheels will (as far as I know, according to "sources", etc) go across the range, they're something that's put as exclusive at launch, it's a well used tactic in the car world.

Electric Blue

Paul,

I was talking to the MINI Rep at the MINI Convertible preview engagement at the New York Auto Show and he said Electric Blue will not be offered across the range in the USA and will remain and S color only here.

Have you heard anything different? I see it says across the range in the release info..

Can BMW upgrade the Works by 7bhp then?
