In the past couple of weeks, I have heard from a variety of local sources (the two MINI dealerships in the Greater Vancouver Area, other local MINI owners with good connections to BMW/MINI) that it's not going to be Indi Blue that will be axed, but Electric Blue, in favour of the new Hyper Blue colour.

Has anyone else heard the same thing from their MINI connections? If so, post in this thread. Let's keep a head count going till either Paul (Mullett) gets the low-down on the truth (or rumour) of the whole she-bang, or till MINI makes an official announcement!

I really doubt this is true, as EB was so popular that they have made it available across the range

i dont think either would be... they both are popular colors... where'd u guys hear this from? is it only going to affect Canada?

Someone please clear this up for me... I know they're not bringing back Indy Blue in the US - but is it true that they're also getting rid of Electric Blue in the US? Please help!!!

Ummm... I just talked to three dealers - no EB for 2005... I think you'll be able to get in UK, but not here... If the dealers are wrong - please let me know!!!!!!!

If you dont trust me, www.mini.com (international site) has the information. Electric Blue is going across the range, not leaving us.

Well - it is officially official - straight from MINI's Mouth... the following is the response I received when inquiring on mini.com (int'l) re: Electric Blue

We appreciate your interest in MINI and I see you are interested in a 2005 model year with Electric Blue. Unfortunately, MINI is discontinuing the production of Electric Blue and it will not be offered for the 2005 model year. You may wish to contact the MINI dealer in your area to see if they have an Electric Blue MINI in their inventory. I hope this helps.

Let us know if you have any more questions. If so, please respond to this e-mail or contact the Customer Relations Department at 1-866-ASK-MINI, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time.

So - no Electric Blue in the USA from now on...Yet still available in Europe on all models... Now the search is on for a dealer that can still order 2004 S'sss....

Gotta love the inconsitencies!

Worldwide, not just Europe. It's on most of the site's information for '05s! I never realised that NA (or maybe just USA) would be losing it.

no - we get black eyed purple and hyper blue - basically they got rid of the existing blues and added 2 new... and turned the light/bright EB into the very dark BEP (which is still blue!)
doesn't make sense...
