All small convertibles are girls cars?

A discussion started around my work place along the lines of:

All small convertibles are girls cars.... even if it is a Mini!

So what do you think?

I personally think that the convertible Mini is quite tempting, however I think a Poll is in order.

True. Especially true of the StreetKa.

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.

Don't know if they are girls' cars but I do know it's impossible for a normal heterosexual male to drive a convertible and not look like a hairdresser. No offence to hairdressers, some of my best friends are hairdressers etc........I'm off for a crimp.

I think this is true. They are for Girls (who look cool in them i might add) or for Men who listen to ABBA, as Clarkson says, like MX 5's! Although i've seen allot of blokes in Strrt KA(K)s and new beetle convertables.
I think the female proportion of MINI owners will go up when this is launched!
No offence to any bloke who has ordered one, as long as you like it that is all that matters, and other peoples' opinions don't matter!
If you have ordered an 'S', who will look a girl when they get left behind at the lights?

United-Kingdom Convertibles

Funny this because I was having exactly the same discussion with some lads at work this morning - when one of them mentioned that the MINI was Number 3 (behind the Smart and the Mercedes CLK) in the list of gay mens' cars.

The conversation then swung around to girlie cars and it was decided the Peugeot 296CC and the Street Ka have to be the girliest cars on the road - with which I whole-heartedly agree.

They reckoned the only small car convertible that wouldn't be classed as a girlie car would be the Lotus Elise!!

So if the majority of small car convertibles are classed as girile cars and the MINI is (allegedly) Number 3 on the list of gay mens' cars - what does that say for the MINI convertible?

I don't think they're girls cars. I've seen quite a few good looking men in small convertibles (VW Cabrio, new Beetle..). I think guys would look even better in MINI convertibles! So if you like it, go for it! All MINIs are genderless in my opinion!

If you think this is confusing - my last car (Jeep Wrangler, no 2 on most gay car lists after the smart, the MINI is no 4 or 5) was a small, soft top, and a proper 4x4, thus allegidly gay, girly & rugged, but only to be used by moms on the school run - and also came top in the top gear survey of cars with wich to impress the girls

One of the only true male convertibles is the Triumph TR6, as point out by Top Gear last year. I don't ever recall seeing a lady driving one???? Don't ask what happened on the last mail I think I hit the Go button to quick!!!!!

all modern small convertibles are girls cars. vintage convertibles like healeys, triumphs, mg's etc can be classed as mens cars because they are totally impractical & require the wearing of goggles & leather helmets which girls would never do as it would smudge their makeup & give them 'hat hair'

Ezzer True TVR's are pretty male. Probably a bit too noisy for most hairless people.

I've often thought that some of the people who slag off convertibles are either too ugly and don't want to be noticed or they simply can't afford the extra dosh. Jealousy is a terrible thing.

Some people are just too beautifull for an open-top - Don't mess with my hair, Darling!

Babaza,

On the basis that some people are too beautiful for an open-top then there must be thousands of open-top drivers who should really be driving a van with no windows.

I don't mind convertibles per-se and indeed I may even hire one for a few days per annum. But it's partly the ownership thing. They're often heavier, thirstier, less secure, prone to vandalism than their tin top stablemates. When it is hot I don't like sitting in traffic being baked by the sun and sweating buckets into the seat. Around my way, most convertibles are owned by middle-aged housewives and the car does nothing to dispel this image.

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.
