| MINI2 Master | Has anyone else not read the MINI manual I was just thinking, I have my baby 4 weeks tomorrow, and I still haven't sat down with the manual, I think it's a pride thing. I just rather work everything out on my own. It's neatly sitting in my golve compartment in it's little silver padded case since the day I got it, I've flicked through it, but not once even tried to read it. Am I alone in this? ![]() |

Offline | No you're not alone. If you scan through some of the questions on the forums you will see that some folk have their MINIs for years and have not read the manual! Now then.......how do you open the bonnet.........? "Do try to keep up Nigel!" |

Offline | Aside from the "Unauthorized Owners Manual" that MINI put out, I downloaded and printed out the 2002 Owner's Manual while waiting for my 2003 to arrive, then downloaded and printed out the 2003 version before taking delivery as I use it as my garage version so the original that comes with the car stays clean. I've never done that with any other vehicle I've owned. It's actually a pretty useful piece of work as the MINI does differ in some surprising respects from other cars. On a differentr note, Bentley Publishing is coming out with a service manual for the Cooper and Cooper S and is allegedly shipping in September. They are, however, accepting pre-orders. |

| MINI2 Regular | I got my Mini Cooper in Feb 2004. By January I had read through both the real and the unauthorized manuals many times in anticipation. But since I got my car I haven't touched it, preferring to drool over and drive the real thing then read books. Live For The Curves. They are so much fun!!!! 2004 Indi Blue Mini Cooper |

Offline | As hard as it will be to do, I want to get the car home when it arrives, sit down and read the manual, then disappear to some great roads for a few months. ![]() - Global Moderator - MY BLOG - Global Procrastinator - ![]() ... Offline | Must be my personality type, but I can't for the life of me understand why someone would not want to learn about the car he/she owns. Sure, you may not use all of the car's features, but when the little light on the dash starts blinking, wouldn't it be nice to know what that means instead of being clueless? After all, buying a car is a huge purchase, it's a complicated machine, and the manual is full of interesting, insightful, and totally useful information. As you might guess, I downloaded the owners manual and read it from cover to cover (many times) prior to the arrival of my car. + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | I've read bits of it. When I got the car, the saleswoman showed me where everything was, so it wasn't that much of a big deal... So... my MINI goes beep when it's cold. Is it about to explode? ![]() |

Offline | .....Probably one of the most crushing comments yet seen and right on the money! If only more owners read the manual before posting we could dispense with much of the 'what does this button do' vapidity |
