I was curious if anyone else has seen this problem? The on-board computer on my MINI displays a very low number for average speed. Like a speed below 10 mph. I would say that my true average speed would be between 30-40 mph. Is there something I am missing. I now have 9,400 miles on my car. Any help would be appreciated.

It includes any time spent at idle, ie at 0 miles per hour, with the engine running. Watch it drop when you stop at a set of lights for a while.....

< 10 MPH sounds about right for afternoon rush hour traffic in some cities.

Get a stop watch, write down the start and end miles on the regular odometer, and compare with the computer to see how far off it is.
