Where can i get a mat for my boot?

I'm looking to get a mat for my boot to protect the carpet - something similar to the mats throughout the rest of the car probably.

Does anyone have something like this? Where abouts did you buy it from?

I was looking on ebay for them, but could only find a guy who would make one for me if i sent him a paper cut out of my boot. I think he said it would cost about £25 which would be quite good, just don't know how confident i would be in getting the cut out.

Hi GAM,

You can indeed have something like that, and in a color to match your interior or mats, too. And not from an aftermarket "cut-to-fit" place, either.

MINI makes the Boot Mat, for the floor of the boot, and the Boot Mat Extension, which goes over the back of the rear seats when they're folded down. I have both, and have found them well worth having. You should be able to find them either in your MINI Motoring Accessories catalogue, or on the MINI website. Your MA or parts clerk should be able to help you get either or both.

Oh... And you may want to look into the Boot Box as well. Handy.

Pics of all of the above are in my Personal Gallery. Scroll down to the bottom, and you'll see them.

Cheers,
DW

I need one too because my golf clubs and golf shoes are always getting dirt into the boot! I have seen them on http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/MossUK/NewMini.aspx where you can download a catalogue.

Thanks for replying - i will look into the mini floor mats. I forgot to look in the accessories book.

Thanks for all your help.

What do you do with the boot mat extension when the seats are up? Do you have to take it out of the car or can you store it in the boot easily?

You're quite welcome!

The Extension is somewhat flexible, and can be more-or-less folded, or semi-somewhat-rolled up when the seats are up to stay in the boot. When you do that though, there isn't room for much else.

As for mine, to keep its shape well and flat, I just take it out of the car when I'm not using it.

Good luck!
DW

Thats exactly why i'm after a mat. The golf clubs and shoes really take a lot of dirt into the boot.

Cheers for the link.

Looks like some good stuff on there, will have to explore it in more detail.

Never mind 'Scroll down to the bottom, and you'll see them'.

Look at the ones at the top

On another tack, the cover, to the right, in your photos of the boot. Is that a C/D Player Cover with the mini badge on?

What, the one fom the top of the 729-foot waterfall? I'm sorry, are you afraid of heights? Oh, wait... Or do you mean the one with the pretty young ladies in those cute little outfits? Yes, that seems to be a paticularly popular picture. The story behind it is here... Enjoy!

Yes, it is. It's a 6-disc changer, available from your BMW/MINI dealer. All Minis (yep, all of 'em!) are actually pre-wired for the changer. There's a wire bundle and a connector lurking right behind the access panel on that side of the boot. The installation bracket is considered a separate item, as is the cover for the whole assembly. But all of the above are 'official' parts.

Anyway, that's why there's a caption on one of those pics that says something like "Mini Boot Mat - CD Changer Not Included."

Cheers,
DW
