How many of you use a radar detector?

just wondering how many of you use one, and which one. I have Valentine One, and I think it works great.

I will be using one, just haven't had a chance to transfer it to my MINI yet ( and since I'm in my break in period, of course I'm not speeding anyway!)

Don't know what make/model it is....got it 6 years ago and it was cheap (probably a Cobra?)

nope, i just use a GPS based speed camera detector. ive always thought a radar detector to be a bit useless. By the time you have detected the incoming radar, it too late to slow down. unless of course you have lightning reactions.

Yup use a Beltronics one... cheap i know heres my story... I was saving up for a V1 and then when I did have enough money I couldnt justify spending $400 on a radar detector... so I waited and debated and then I got a speeding ticket. doing 82... and if u know the area... 5 freeway in Calif going from San Diego to Los Angeles... everyone goes an average of 80!!! I promise you... but ya the cop gave me a ticket for doing 82 so I ended up using my $400 for paying the ticket, going to traffic school, and buying a low end radar detector...

Moral of the story... if you planned on getting a good detector and have saved up the money for it already get it! before its too late.

I've got the Geodesy TSC (www.roadpilot.com) . It's a GPS and radar detector in one.

Because it's illegal in NL now, it's nicely tucked away inside my left air-vent next to the speedo and it's powered by the reminder of my car radio.

I've got my Bel antenna in my front fender on the left side, it's really tight. How have you guys solved it with so little space??

Nope. They are illegal here in Virginia. Too expensive if you get cought, you get fined, & have the ditector confiscated.

I use a Valentine One, its the best radar detector on the market and well worth the price. That said, nothing will save your ass from laser.

Well, the new escorts have laser shifting technolorgy. It seems this is legal, as lasers are governed by the food and drug association, not the police. But I'm sticking with my V1 arrows, also, I think laser shifting is illegal in Calli only.
