Offline | What to decide on Cooper Cabrio or Tin top Cooper S.????? Heres a dilemma if there ever was one. ![]() We have a choice to make take my position number 2 for the Cooper Cabrio or wait till August for a Tin top Cooper S and we only have two weeks to decide as it will be time to spec the cabrio.! Heres why. Both cars specced the same the price difference is about £110 Sorry if there was confusion on a Cabrio Cooper or a Cabrio S. Last edited by dinger : May 9th, 2004 at 08:39 AM. |

Offline | Why not go for both dinger? If you're near the top of a list somewhere for a Cooper Cabrio then drive that until the S arrives. You probably won't lose anything. ![]() There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all. |

Offline | Cooper S - I had the opportunity of getting a Cooper convertable almmost straight away (within a few weeks of them being officially launched) but noooooooooooo way would could I go to having a cooper just for the exclusivity of a convertable, especially when Mini swapped my Nearly 2 yr old S for a brand new one a couple of months ago (due to endless problems) - might be tempted by an S convertable in a yr or 2. Am not that bothered about the changes to the minor refresh on the S either as visually from the outside only the lights have really changed I know there are a couple of other minor changes but there nothing to write home about. As far as the 163bhp to 170bhp - im sure my r Optimax fuelled S will be quicker than the new version - until they get run in ![]() |

Offline | Seeing your in the UK, I wouldn't recomment the Cabrio as you won't have the top down enough. Personally, even though I haven't seen it in the flesh, I REALLY don't like the look of the cabrio with the top up. It looks like it would be an absolute nightmare to see out the rear. Since the weather here so lovely, I think you would probably spend at least 75% of the year (I'm being optimistic) with the top up. I'd go hardtop S all the way. Now if they came up with a hard top cabrio that didn't take up boot space then that would be different story! |

| Heading down the aisle | Me, I'm getting an S. Even in Sunny So Cal... ![]() At the price, the practicality of a hatch outweighs the "whee!" factor of the drop top. Especially since I'm getting the S soon (roll on, August!), and it'll be a long, long time before I can get a convertible--I'm not on any list. Get what you like. ![]() |

| Damned | My thoughts exactly !! .. Although I would be first in Line for an Electric Hard-Top Cabrio (in a similar vein to the Peugeot CC`s) .. Even if it took up ALL Boot Space & ALL Rear Passenger Space . I`m not against the detail touches they`ve made to the Cabrio, with maybe the exception of those rear Boot Hinges, But ask yourself if you would be able to look back admiringly at it in the Car park with its Hood Up, in the same way as you can to an Original MINI ![]() ![]() In da Wud |

Offline | Seeing as you're no.2 on the list.... I'd say also that you should get it, then order the S, then sell the cabrio when you need to start paying for the S, you'll make a bit on the cabrio for sure.... |
