I've had my car since Dec-19-2003 and have only put about 2300 miles on it so far.
The base-Manual, the model I have, EPA fuel economy is 27-city / 38-hwy
Between fill-ups, I've been getting between 30 and 32 mpg, some city, some highway.
I feel I should be getting better mileage (yes, I'm using premium fuel as discussed in other threads).
Someone suggested I get my tire pressure checked and make sure they have a the proper air, which I'll do soon.
This might be a pointless question, because may not everyone calculates their mileage at each fill-up like I do, but what type of mileage are Mini-Base-Manual owners getting?
Should I be concerned with 30 - 32 mpg? Probably not so bad considering it's in the middle.
I miss my 1997-Tercel which got over 39 mpg highway, but my Mini is 18 inches shorter and easier to park in SF.
I got a MCS and modified the intake, ECU, pulley and the exhausts. I don't remember what do I get before all the mod. But I;m still getting 25-27mpg. I live in Fremont and work in Palo Alto, so I also have some freeway and some local everyday.
If you have time on May 23, come join us at the NorCal MINIs birthday party at Lake Berryessa, I'm sure you can find the answer there. It's about 35 cars signed up.
I usually get right around 30. This is NO highway miles at all, but mostly back roads. Lately I think I have been getting 33-35, though and I've got around 8800 miles on my car. It is a 2003 Cooper 5 speed. Hope that helps!
