Offline | MC vs. MO Chipped I have a Stage2 superchip installed to my MO. This on paper gives me an extra 30bhp So now my MO has more bhp than a MC.... On paper. Is this true in reality? Forgetting about turns, Would a standard MC beat my Chipped MO on the strip? ![]() |

Offline | you guys thinking of a Fast&Furious style A50 run or a proper timed Santa Pod job ? am in Derby and curious so happy to help - PM me where & when 0-60 on a dual carriageway from standing start's legal enough .. just need a quiet (private) road :}} Last edited by J1JPE : May 12th, 2004 at 07:25 PM. |

Offline | From Superchips website & data the chipped ONE has about 8BHP more than a standard Cooper which they tested about 123BHP. The Cooper has faster gearing which should help. Are you getting a facelifted MINI? Think the gearing with the new gearbox makes things slightly different again. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Nearest dual carriageway to me is the A52. Thats easy enough from Derby It might just have to be done. I reckon I can take you anyday (thats fighting talk)Kenl, Not getting my facelift MC until end of sept But I get to keep my MO(chipped) until then I thought the gear ratios where the same amongst Mini's (apart from the MCS naturally) |

Offline | THOUGHT you and Ben were up for it ; I am just offering to 'referee' (marshall, timekeeper etc) Check my spec & you'll see mine's an MO also - that's why I'm interested - challenging me won't answer your query .... if you're getting rid of your car, I guess u r not too worried what happens to it .... might be tempted to have a wee academic run v the winnner ... when did they make the A52 a private road ? Due to get a loan car soon so cud use that as a 'benchmark' ... PM me if you want to meet up SERIOUSLY - Probably best you go to a Santa Pod Run Whatya brung day in the MO (sure there'll be MC's to compare times against) then go again in your std MC and post up the results for us all ... that way the only variable is the car - ideally track, driver, fuel, weather, temp need to be the same to get an accurate comparison I thought the gear ratios were the same amongst Mini's - final drive ratio on MC is lower than MO Last edited by J1JPE : Oct 5th, 2004 at 08:55 PM. |

Offline | Come on guys - The obvious solution is to take them down the track at the British Mini Showdown in July. Not my local roads the A52 or A50 - I am in Derby too. Have you got the quickest MINI then prove it in July You can even show them classic Mini owners a thing or twohttp://www.britishminiclub.co.uk/days You can even win a nice trophy for being the quickest Ade |

Offline | Be good to see you at the Showdown. I was at Himley on Sunday organising concours. Drop us an e-mail about Bedford and I will add details to the events page on the BMC website for you. I might even promote it in the MINI section for you If you are going to the Showdown you have to wear a helmet to go the track p.s We are swapping our MINI One (51) this weekend for a Red MINI One (53) from Sytners. Offline | I have just put the details on-line for you at http://www.britishminiclub.co.uk/events and sent out our latest new e-mail to subscribers and included details for you. Thanks for getting the info to me so quick - hopefully it will work well for you. I have also had an e-mail asking us to split the MINI Cooper/MINI Cooper S class at the Showdown. As they say the S's have an unfair advantage on the 1/4 mile track. I will see what the BMC say about this idea - what do you all think Ade |

Offline | hmmm....everyone wants the fastest mini. Am i the only person proud of having a SLOW ar$e mini? I may be wrong, but I could well have the slowest new mini in the world? Well, it is a standard one, with a very heavy twin 12" sub box in the back so I assume it must be one of the slowest. But that's how I like it- driving around at very slow speads (with the windows up). Also, I can't afford an S... oh cra£....i forgot i have an air filter- perhaps that will make my mini a little bit faster than another ONE with too much base? Time to bin the Pipercross I think. |

Offline | Im liking the sound of all this guys. A 1/4 mile ''fast & the furious'' job is the only way realy. (as long as theres no speeding train at the end naturally). See you lot at the british mini showdown. J1JPE, Yeh we should meet up sumtime. Dont think theres an east midland meet at present which is ennouying. |
