Offline | Interesting stuff, but its not official if Gabe got it from an 'internal document' its just leaked information. Doesn't really matter, but it could help some of the confusion issues, like when HB will be ready. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | Agree, It's not official yet. If true, it will make it easier to pick a color (being one less choice)No mention of new interior lighting package, and the lack of rear fogs is very annoying. Nothing worth waiting for me. Don't want LSD or automatic. Just have to wait until dealer knows pricing and packages, and will be their first 2005 MCS. (well second/third after the showroom/demo cars) |

Offline | Just like to add a nod and and a wink, and say.... 17th October 2003: Another rumour from the mill, LSD for Cooper S... Don't you love it when that happens. ![]() Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

| MINI2 Master | I wonder what the LSD will add to the price. I assume its a factory option but not standard? '05 has a lot of nice changes (but I still hate those headlights), now the question will be how many of the '05 improvements will we be able to easily add to current MINIs. |

Offline | Lots of edits here. So, what are the technical details on the "automatic transmission" for tthe MCS? It surely has a torque converter, steering wheel paddles (which means a tiptronic-type selection of [how many?] gears), etc. And, the Limited-Slip Diff should marry to any of the drivetrain choices? Offline | I read that the LSD can only be installed on manual transmission MCS models. 2004 JCW MCS (including all exterior and interior JCW enhancements) upgraded to Cooper Motorsport 225 HPD Kit plus Cooper Motorsport Flywheel, Quaife LSD, Schrick cam 1998 M Roadster |

Offline | Not official yet Until announced by MiniUSA nothing is official. Although the Motoringfile website's been down, I can tell that this report is just a compendum of changes to come, or as one lister said, an "internal" leak, maybe a series of them, all stitched together into a report to make consumers think it's official. However, I expect "officiality" sometime in the next week-10 days or so. When I can build and price that 05 MCS on MINIUSA.com then I know we're FINALLY starting to make headway here. ![]() |

Offline | This is an official PDF I can assure you. MotoringFile would never (key word here is never) try to create an official document out of nothing to "make consumers think it's official". ...and if you don't believe it I'd recommend waiting until later this week. At that point you should be able to call your local dealer and ask them about this very document. They should all have it by then. ![]() |

Offline | Motoringfile links go nowhere; when the site is back up I'll check it out. Thanks. I don't doubt what U say, Gabe. It's just I have issues with the word "officially" (as quoted in the subject line of the first post) being bandied about-- it may be "official" information presented by another party (Motoringfile), but it's not "official" until MINIUSA stops draggggggging their feet and make the damned announcement ALREADY (or if Mini2 beats' em to the punch )Sorry 'bout the rant but this whole 04-05 transition is VERY unsettling |

Offline | Okay I guess I mis-read what you were saying and I completely understand the frustration - no worries. I actually didn't say it was officially released - that was the first poster. I just called it an official document ![]() While MINIUSA hasn't made an official announcement I can tell you that what we have was or will be sent out to all dealers. It was sent from Jeff Stracco (MINI product manager) and is bulletin# PB-5-12-04. This info is in the header of the PDF that I deleted to give Jeff some privacy as his office phone number was listed. The document was dated May 12, 2004. Also MotoringFile is currently online. It was down yesterday for 30 minutes in afternoon due to some server maintenance but otherwise has been up all weekend. ![]() |

Offline | Yeah that PDF confuses me, but I can't see mini.com saying you can get HB in July (on an MCS) and dealers in the UK taking orders for it, and MINIUSA making us wait until Jan for the exact same car. Of course I wouldn't put something randomly decided past MINIUSA, since they clearly decide we don't get half leather seats when the UK gets them. I guess we'll find out shortly, not much else we can do. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | I saw the dealer's printout today and it said 'Hyper Blue available on the MCS from 1/05' That would really annoy me if they built Hyper Blue for the UK and not for the US... We might have to invade England or something (sorry mates, just trying to keep my spirits up about it) |

Offline | It just doesn't make sense. I've been trying to keep my spirits up by looking at Astro Black... It could even save money, since I wouldn't get the color matched Dash and there's no sense in Blue leather seats on a Black car, so I could Leatherette. Maybe that's the scheme? MINI Knows if they make oddball decisions, they'll make less money, because we'll get less options! Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |
