Offline | Looking for Cooper S at msrp Hi im in Los Angeles and would like a 2005 mini cooper S for college. All the dealers around here are over msrp or have a long waiting list. I would like to spec one out now and have it delivered as soon as it takes. Do you know any dealers surrounding California that would have msrp and no waiting list. Ie... ARIZONA, NEVADA etc. Thanks so much. |

Offline | Welcome to MINI2. I don't think you'll get a MINI as quickly from Classic as from MINI of the Hamptons. At last check (Classic is my Local dealer, and since I have an '05 on order with them, I've been keeping track of their stock) They're reasonably busy with orders (something like July/August delivery for orders now) and don't have any cars on the lot. If you're in a hurry, stick with flav's other reccomendation, but do keep in mind the '05 changes, so you don't buy an '04 one month before the '05s and regret it, assuming you can wait until August or so for delivery. Oh, and if you check the dealer forum, you'll find the reputations of the dealers closer to CA (like NV and AZ ones), which might lead you to purchasing from farther away. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | I ordered from Salt Lake an S in Feb, and it will be a June build. They had regular Coopers earlier. Closest MSRP location I could find that was a short-ish wait list. |

Offline | I have bought two minis from long beach mini, my first an mc, and now my mcs. no waiting at all. Just check out thier web site to see what is on the lot, or do what I did and call to get the 411 on the next shipment to get a jump on your compitition, since sometimes they are slow to post. and yes all the minis are MSRP. good luck! |

Offline | Schomp in Denver sells at MSRP but I'm starting my 17th week on the wait list, with no word yet in this 04-05 transition. I was told in January 8-10 weeks max, then >suck< the S allotments dwindled to nada (or I was told) My alternate is St Louis. MSRP, small doc fee, in March it was 7-8 weeks from order to delivery, no wait list, about $500 neg to ship. When they announce the 05's officially and I can build one, I'll see which d'ship can get me into my (now 05) MCS the fastest with the least hassles. Yet I might as well wait until Jan to get the LSD and center armrest. --- Jimbo |

Offline | I went by the dealer near Torrance and they had a bunch of Minis in stock...of course this was a few weeks ago. It's Southbay Mini. They were selling at MSRP but were adding LoJack and a coating of some sort. |

Offline | Depending on how far you're willing to drive (keeping in mind no drive is too far for an MCS)... I'd try Albuquerque. I just picked my convertible up there last weekend. They have only been open about a month, and as of last weekend still had about 30 cars from their new dealer allocation on the lot. Don't know what ordering allocation is like, but you might find something you like in stock. I found 95% of what I wanted, which was better than "2 months... no 4... no, wait we don't know" that I kept getting from the local dealer. |

Offline | Found only 3 in Calif. One has long waits...E. Bay Mini (SF area) But, very nice staff, to be sure!! Always a small chance one will be cancelled...open up. Was told to call regularly. (otherwise back up to a 8-10 month or more wait on S's there) L.A. area...as mentioned before... Long Beach & Torrance are all I found. Again, w/both...it's a matter of luck...calling regularly, etc. At least w/Long Beach they do post an inventory, too, on their website. I'd get in 'thick' fast w/a salesperson. ;-) Otherwise, I don't know how long the wait is, for regular orders w/these two. Good luck! |

Offline | I went to Long Beach Mini last Saturday to pick up a part for my 04 MC and they had like 15+ Mini's sitting on the lot. THey didnt have dealer markups but they all had lojack and some other eaxra stuff installed on them. Fight for the smallest minority- "The Individual". |
