Offline | MINI bugs....no really, BUGS just wondering. for work i have to park my new mini in a small parking lot in a heavily wooded area. when i park it in the morning there are tons(i mean tons of insects flying all around it. and there is grass all under it. i have already seen a spider in it, and some webs under the spoiler. is this going to be a problem in your opinion. i have read about bugs showing up in the spedo or tach ect. also i don't want nests all in the car causing mechanical problems. i live in the city(not even any trees there). and going to this forest area everyday it making me think, do any of you have problems with keeping your minis in a place with alot of insects for 8 hours or more a day. some of you guys live in heavy, heavy wooded areas. i am also worried about small rodents getting up inside and having my mini wires for lunch. |

Offline | good idea about the honey. i undersatnd that bugs will get on it and in it. i'm not that anal i swear. its just the worry that when i park the car it is in the middle of a swarm of bugs, and spiders. i was just wondering if this has been a problem (mechanical issues, nest in the car, wires, infestation) for anybody else. surly i'm not the only person in the world parking in the woods around bugs swarms and furry creatures. |

Offline | Well, flav, I live on top of a mountain, and man, do we have bugs around here. But that's what garages and loads of nasty insecticides are for. Better living through chemistry, I say! Meanwhile, does you Mini look anything like this? ![]() Hey... Maybe you could develop a car wax mixed with an insecticide... The next big automotive breakthrough!! ![]() Good luck, DW ![]() Last edited by Doctor Wha? : May 25th, 2004 at 05:41 PM. |

Offline | i had the bejeebas scared out of me one morning when a 'huntsman' spider climbed out from behind my driver's side mirror as i was swiping the card-access at work! ![]() but seriously, my MINI gets pretty average suburban city exposure & even i had an ant in the central tacho the other week... so i think your concerns are not unreasonable! no advice to help though flav, sorry! ![]() |
