Offline | Ordered in early April; Won't arrive until late October...sound right? Newbie here! I placed my order for the 2005 Mini in early April and now I'm told that it is scheduled to be produced in the middle of September for delivery in October. Does that sound right? I thought I was pretty much ahead of the pack by ordering in April. Brian |

Offline | You may be right on target in time frames. I see you are in Sicily so it is hard to say. I'm in Texas and here we have to wait 4 months. In Calif it's longer. So really where you are located makes a big difference. "Mr Bridger" |

Offline | September will be a 2005 model-year car. There is re-tool in July, so there could be a little down-time there (not sure), but if Italy is anything likethe US, there is a bloody long wait list most everywhere. I got in line in February, car being built this week, and I'll see it in probably a little over a month. |

Offline | Sounds a little late - but its possible the Oxford plant is with increased demand, considering the inclusion of new models etc. I ordered early February and will take delivery this Wednesday. 131 days in total. - Global Moderator - MY BLOG - Global Procrastinator - ![]() ... Offline | It may also depend on the build slots of your dealer. If theyre the only dealer for a wide area, they probably have far more demand. My dealer here for example, can only order 3 cars a month! Naturally, demand is outstripping supply(ability) and their current builds are slipping to August and even September. ![]() - Global Moderator - MY BLOG - Global Procrastinator - ![]() ... Offline | Being in Sicily myself and having done the process, the timeline you have given sounds about right taking into account that the plant will retool for the 2005 models. Out of curiousity, what specs have you ordered? Always nice to see a fellow MINI in Sicily. Cheers! Offline | The lead times are varied, aren't they? Spec ordered mine April 10. It replaced a unit in the dealer's production allocation. Built May 16/17. Gizmo departed Southampton May 27 and is expected to arrive at the dealer June 18. I am starting to get excited. ![]() |

How long have you had yours?" Got mine last October, had to wait for the Italians to finish vacation during the whole month of September. Quite a few MINI owners on the island, but very few use MINI2 or NAM. BTW, nice specs! ![]() PS/PS Cooper S , Orciari Body kit, Xenon, 16' Konig's, Aux Audio input, Sunroof, "frost" Viper Stripes, Lapis Blue Leather, 15% Pulley, Big Smile! |

| Mini Tweaker | Serving @ Naples, myself. Try ministripes.com or mightystripes.com. Both sell on ebay and will ship by US Mail. I got some nice black w/white edge trimmed stripes, and matching boot stripes. Expecting them anyday now. If you and Ovrkll are intersted, I posted a group by in the "Exterior" forum on the Orciari body kit made in northern Italy... 6 people sign up gets us 60% off... for AFI plates only though. Oh and btw, got a shipmate here who just recently bought his place in line for a MCS with July build date and Aug/Sep delivery. ciao, 'mates. '03 IB/W MCS |

Offline | Got my "Frost Viper" stripes through CooperFlags (www.cooperflags.com). Not hard to install yourself if you take your time and follow the directions. BluMiniMe - Think I will have to check into that body kit, might be able to fit it into the budget. Offline | Bump. I am in on the group buy! Any other AFI plate "S" motorers that are interested should jump in. Can't beat this discount. Also see the post in "Europe" section - would like to see about getting a Sicily MINI club going. Cheers! Offline | Bluminime, you said your shipmate is expecting an Aug/Sep delivery? Is this for an '05 and when did he order? I spoke with my salesman today and expressed concern over the delay from ordering in April and yet skipping July and August for a build date of September. He told me I was one of the very first to place my order at Sigonella. However, he said that the Military program receives one allocation amount instead of each individual base. He said that no one in, for example, Naples or Rota should be getting one before me if I ordered mine earlier. Oh well, guess I'm beating a dead horse but I was impatient to begin with but now with a date that's about a month and a half later than I was told, it's even more frustrating. |
